The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) is an international NGO that supports the building of democratic societies around the world. With funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), IFES Nepal provides technical assistance to the electoral cycle to enhance citizen participation and strengthen civil society, governance and transparency. IFES is seeking applications from highly qualified, dynamic and competent candidates for the following position:

DISABILITY PROGRAM COORDINATOR - 1

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate the programmatic and financial aspects of IFES disability program including monitoring and reporting on all IFES sub awardee DPOs'.
  • Liaising with IFES sub awardee DPOs' to ensure accurate and timely provision of their monthly and quarterly narrative and financial report.
  • Compilation, review, revision, analysis and reporting on quantitative and qualitative program reports submitted by IFES sub awardee DPOs'.
  • Monitor project operations and finances, prepare narrative and financial reports on project activities and contribute to IFES’ internal reports.
  • Support efforts to mainstream disability work in IFES CSO and other activities.
  • Provide disability project partners with day-to-day project management support to ensure that projects are completed in a timely and effective manner
  • Carry out project management capacity building activities as required
  • Provide other project implementation and administrative support, as required and assigned by the program Officer, Deputy Country Director and Country Director.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum Bachelor level qualification in relevant field;
  • At least 3 years relevant project coordination experience in disability projects and working with International NOG is highly preferred;
  • Experience in quantitative analysis, including use of database software;
  • Fluency in English and Nepali, both in written and verbal and excellent communication skills;
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, email and Internet);
  • Ability to show initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness and complete tasks with minimal supervision;
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly outside Kathmandu;
  • Collaborative, team oriented individual who is willing and capable of working independently where necessary and
  • Experience in working in close coordination with government institutions.

The position is opened for Nepali nationals only and based in Kathmandu with occasional field visits. Selected candidates will be offered one year initial contract of employment with possibility of extension.
