1. Zero Waste At School (ZWAS) Trainer

Required number: 10

Job Type: part-time

Remuneration: Per session as per organization rule.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, and dedicated individual with a strong interest and extensive experience in conducting training, orientation, coordinating with schools, and organizing cleanup campaigns. This position operates on a contract basis, with mobilization occurring as required, to facilitate Zero Waste at Schools (ZWAS) sessions. The ZWAS Trainer will be responsible for school-level interventions and organizing cleanup events. Essential skills and experience for the ZWAS Trainer position include:

  • The minimum requirement is a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of one year of experience in the social sector.
  • Possesses expertise in facilitating training, and orientation, coordinating with schools, and organizing cleanup campaigns.
  • Capable of frequent visits to schools.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in challenging environments.
  • Proficient in collaborating effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop school awareness materials aligned with the Zero Waste at Schools themes.
  • Collaborate closely with CLEAN UP NEPAL's staff to create a comprehensive work plan, timeline, and list of activities.
  • Facilitate Zero Waste at Schools (ZWAS) sessions at selected schools, with two trainers assigned to each school.
  • Regularly visit schools and follow up with teachers, students, and school management regarding the program.
  • Partner with the Project Officer to craft case stories (a minimum of three from each school).
  • Compile and submit monthly reports to the Project Coordinator.
  • Any other related duties as requested by the office.

2. Volunteer

Required number: 100+

Job Type: part-time

Remuneration: Per event as per organization rule.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, and dedicated individual with a strong interest and extensive experience in the clean-up campaign, door-to-door visits for awareness on waste management and Safa Nepal application, and so on. This position operates on a contract basis, with mobilization occurring as required. Essential skills and experience for the Volunteer include:

  • The minimum requirement is an intermediate level. (18 years above). 
  • Basic awareness of environmental issues and the importance of waste management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with diverse community members.
  • Capacity to collaborate and work seamlessly with other volunteers and organizers.
  • Proactive approach in taking on responsibilities during cleanup activities.
  • Basic skills in maintaining accurate records of collected waste.
  • Basic understanding of waste management practices.
  • Ability to engage with community members during door-to-door visits.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different cleanup scenarios and community settings.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in river cleanup initiatives.
  • Maintain thorough records of the collected waste during cleanup activities.
  • Conduct waste audits on the collected waste to analyze and categorize it effectively.
  • Engage in door-to-door visits to raise awareness within the community about waste management practices.
  • Promote the Safa Nepal initiative at the local level, encouraging community involvement and participation. 
  • Any other related duties as requested by the office.
