Civic Forum for Sustainable Development (Civic Forum) is one of the leading members based Nepalese non-governmental organization (NGO) based at the Kavrepalanchok district. It is a pioneer, an autonomous, non-profit making, non-racial and non-political, non-governmental organization established with the prime aim of environmental conservation, social justice as well as innovative environmental friendly sustainable development and marginalized poorest of the poor people natural resource management. Initially, Civic Forum was established as a forum for sharing ideas and experiences of different development professionals from various disciplines and to contribute on the sustainable development. Civic Forum is registered at Government of Nepal (GoN), Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), District Administration Office (DAO) at Kavrepalanchok in March 16, 2004 (Registration Number 785/2060/61) on pursuant to section 4 of the Organization Registration Act. 1977 and is also affiliation at Social Welfare Council (SWC) on March 26, 2004 on pursuant to section 13 of the Social welfare Act.1992 and NGO Federation of Nepal.

Civic Forum for Sustainable Development (Civic Forum), one of the leading members based non-governmental organization (NGO) at Kavrepalanchok district is implementing the project "Technical Assistance to Implement Water Safe Communities in Province (6) Karnali and Province (7) Sudurpashchim" in partnership with UNICEF, Nepal. Civic Forum invites application from qualified and experienced candidates for the following position: 

 

Position: Water Quality Focal Person 

No. of Vacancy: 1

Minimum Academic Qualification: Bachelor in Public Health (BHP) or equivalent

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in related field.
  • Should be able to lead and take overall responsibility of water quality and water safety ensurance at scheme level with implementation of ‘water quality monitoring’ activities.
  • Should have good communication, training, proposal and report writing skills.
  • Good understanding of the health and hygiene risk that arise from drinking unsafe water, water borne diseases and its prevention measures.
  • Fluent in speaking, reading, writing and listening in English and Nepali.
  • Sensitive towards cultural difference and ability to work in a wide variety, should be able to adopt in a remote/ backward areas.
  • Should have polite and humble character to co-ordinate with likeminded organizations, government bodies and community people.
  • Knowledge on water quality (National Drinking Water Quality Standard) and should have ability to use different water quality testing kits.
  • Should be capable of preparing plan for training activities related to water quality and execute the activities.
  • Should have basic knowledge on water safety plan and its implementation in rural water supply schemes.
  • Knowledge in MS office (MS word, excel and Power point).

 

Position: Knowledge Management and Documentation Officer

Minimum Academic Qualification: Minimum Bachelor Degree in Science, Humanities, Social Science, Mass Communication or equivalent

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the field of documentation and knowledge management, case study and success study writing.
  • Skills of writing web content, news, reports, articles and documentation of good practices and achievements and ability to disseminate them.
  • Should possess proficiency especially in English language for writing excellent case studies and reports as per the requirement.
  • Polite and humble character with high level of motivation and good communication, social and interpersonal skills.
  • Should possess excellent writing, editing and speaking skills in English and Nepali.
  • Should have capability of collation and documentation of all the activities under different project heads as per the requirements and verification of documents.
  • Computer and IT proficiency for maintaining organization’s website with high level of familiarity with MS word, excel and Power point.
  • Should have excellent skills and knowledge on preparing case studies, success studies and their documentation.
  • Sensitive towards cultural difference and ability to work in a wide variety, should be able to adopt in a remote/ backward areas.
  • Basic knowledge on water quality and water safety plan in community level will be an advantage.

 

Position: Admin and Finance Officer (AFO)

No. of Vacancy: 1

Minimum Academic Qualification: Bachelor in Business Studies (BBS)/BBA/B.Com or equivalent

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year professional working experience in governmental or non-governmental organizations as Admin and Finance Officer (AFO).
  • Should have knowledge and skill of account keeping /management, administrative works, coordination and communication. 
  • Should bear skill and knowledge of report writing both in English and Nepali language.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office package software (Word, excel, power point), email/internet and account software especially Tally accounting software.
  • Candidate should be highly motivated to work and should have excellent interpersonal skills.

Contract Duration: 5 months (Possibility of extension on the basis of performance)

Working Location: Karnali Pradesh and Sudurpashchim Pradesh
