Education level: Bachelors in social science

Reports to: WASH Coordinator

Experience: At least 1 year of experience in the area of social mobilization in the sector of WASH. Experience in Rural Drinking Water Supply Scheme cycle and its implementation. The WASH Technician in conjunction with Social Mobilizer will have to mobilize and motivate the local community in support, monitor the WASH construction activities and their sustainability.

Other specification:

  • Sound knowledge in social mobilization.

  • Good interpersonal and coordination skills.

  • Good knowledge of a door-to-door social mobilization mechanism.

  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Willingness and enthusiasm to work with a vulnerable and marginalized group.

  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.

 

Job Description

  • To empower the community through social mobilization.

  • Facilitate Focus Group Discussion and identify the community need and impacts of the water scheme related to WASH.

  • To help facilitate and conduct a public audit of WUSC.

  • Facilitate various kinds of training related to WASH and empower community members to improve their quality of healthy life.

  • Responsible for weekly/daily reporting to the WASH Coordinator about the progress.

  • Work in harmony with all the project staff and field team for the effective and efficient day-to-day management of WASH activities.

  • Coordinate hygiene promotion  activities with other line agencies  in order to integrate activities in the same geographical area and for the same beneficiaries

  • Ensure that construction works are integrated with hygiene promotion and community participation to ensure the sustainability of the infrastructure built

  • Participation in all coordination meetings, prepare minutes of meetings.

  • Assisting WASH Coordinator in conducting various kinds of training, workshops, and door-to-door surveys at all levels.

  • Participation in all community meetings and assist WUSC in preparing minutes of a meeting.

  • Promote a sense of ownership among the beneficiaries through community engagement activities.

  • Actively work for the achievement of the Drinking Water Supply Project action plan.

  • Any other duties assigned by Wine to Water Nepal as per requirement.

  • Assist in conducting post-construction training to WUSC.

  • Facilitate the WUSC to select and employ the Maintenance Worker (MW).

This position is based in Ichchakamana Rural Municipality, Chitwan district.
