Opportunity Village Nepal (OVN) advocates for the rights of women and children and for their economic and social justice. The focus of its programs continues to be on the abolition of child labor, prevention of human trafficking, promotion of girl child education and empowerment of women through various innovative strategies working closely with the communities they live in.

Under promote the Rights of Vulnerable Nepali Girls Project (CP-Home)and Anti Human trafficking project Kathmandu, OVN invites applications for the following positions:

Key Responsibilities (but not limited hereby)

Child Protection Officer (1 Female only)- Residential

Pokhara, Hemja(CP-Home)

  • Bachelors with minimum 2 years experience in social work.
  • Minimum of two years direct experience of direct service provision to survivors of trafficking (highly preferred) or with sexually exploited, abused, and survivors of gender-based violence especially those below 18 years
  • Knowledge of child and youth participation methodologies and experience of coordinating youth activities.  
  • Efficiency in using Word, excel, and PPT together with other MS packages and the Internet.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali.
  • Experience providing written reports and documentation of project activities.
  • Depth Knowledge of Child Safeguarding
  • Ensure effective operation and management of CP home 
  • Take responsibility for the safety and well-being of all of the children, under the care and protection of the CP Home.
  • Assure logistical arrangements are in order so as not to compromise any aspect of the project experience for children.
  • Led to conduct capacity building/ vocational activities and various creative activities for youth and children
  • Build harmonious relations between beneficiaries, their family, and stakeholders and community 
  • Coordination and collaboration with concerned government and non-governmental stakeholders
  • Maintain proper documentation of the children and prepare qualitative reports and case stories

Outreach Worker (1)-Female

Kathmandu

  • Preferably with completion of standard 12th (+2) or at least 10th standard with a minimum of 6 months(preferably one year) experience of being involved in the Project as beneficiaries or experience working with youth of entertainment sector.
  • The age group for the Youth Motivator between 18-30 years
  • Minimum 6 months of direct experience in participating in awareness and advocacy program of OVN
  • A very good Knowledge of written and spoken Nepali with basic literacy skills in English
  • Willing to travel as and when necessary
  • Have basic knowledge on Peer Support Group
  • Have willingness to visit AES, find out  beneficiaries and to perform the role of support staff
  • Knowledge of life skill, leadership, and vocational training
  • Maintain monthly home visit reporting of the beneficiaries
  • Conduct Peer Support Group meeting having specific objectives
  • Conduct field visit to the vocational training institute to do follow up of the beneficiary twice in a week
  • Conduct field visit to the dance bar, massage parlor, cabin restaurants thrice in a week
  • Contact the beneficiaries for the events and facilitate the sessions like in house activities/community
  • Provide peer to peer counseling and conduct non-formal education as per the need of the beneficiaries.
  • Responsible to monitor the front-office area and reception desk if required.

House Mother (1)- Only Female (Residential)

Pokhara-Hemja

  • Preferably completion of 10th or intermediate level or able to read and write
  • Age 25-35
  • Knowledge of Child Protection
  • Cleanliness
  • Able to manage children
  • Taking overall responsibility of the children residing in particular cottage at CP home
  • Provide timely food and other logistic support to the children as per their children.
  • Ensure Safe and secure environment within the cottage 
  • Strict adherence to OVN child safeguarding policy
