Nepal Investigative Multimedia Journalism Network (NIMJN) is a non-profit organization working to improve the standards of investigative multimedia journalism in Nepal through advanced training, mentorship, and story publication. It is legally registered with the government of Nepal in April 2020. It promotes collaboration among reporters to produce investigative stories related to social justice and accountability issues using the latest tools and techniques.

The organization is led by investigative journalists, media practitioners, and staff with years of working experience in Nepal and abroad.

1. Investigative Reporting Fellowship- 3 | Application link:https://bit.ly/NIMJNReportingFellow

NIMJN is looking for senior and junior reporting fellows.

            Requirements for a senior fellow:

• Academic Qualification: Bachelors in any discipline with eight years of journalism experience
• An essay (400 words) explaining your interest in applying for this fellowship
• Investigative story proposal (400 words) on accountability, human trafficking, or/and migration issues
• Letter of support for publishing/broadcasting stories from your media outlet. Freelancers can apply with a letter of support from an outlet
• Short biography up to 300 words
• A resume or curriculum vitae
• Five samples of work focusing on accountability, labor migration, or human trafficking published after 2015
  
  Requirements for a junior fellow:
• Academic Qualification: Bachelors in any discipline with three years of journalism experience
• An essay (400 words) explaining your interest in applying for this fellowship
• Investigative story proposal (400 words) on accountability, human trafficking, or/and migration issues.

Workstation Location: Applicant to be based in the Nepal Investigative Multimedia Journalism Network (NIMJN), Anamnagar, Kathmandu.

We are looking for someone who can:

• Be able to write good project proposals, monitoring, and evaluation reports

• Work collaboratively with local journalists from different provinces of Nepal

• Be able to work under deadlines

Qualification & Required Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences having more than three years of experience working in similar positions (Preference will be given to candidates with Master’s Degree and having worked with media-related non-profits)

• Experience in team management, team building, and result-oriented work.

• Experience in organizing training, facilitation of workshops, and other capacity-building activities 

• Well-versed in English and Nepali language (both spoken and written) and have good computer knowledge

• Good interpersonal and analytical skills

• Journalistic skills will be an added advantage

Workstation Location: Applicant to be based in the Nepal Investigative Multimedia Journalism Network (NIMJN), Anamnagar, Kathmandu.

We are looking for someone who can:

• Generate ideas for data-driven stories 

• Develop and visualize stories using different data platforms

• Report and analyze data in a way that contributes to telling compelling stories on an array of news platforms

• Collaborate with reporters, editors, designers, and developers to bring those stories to a publication

• Be able to work under deadlines

• Be creative and be a data ninja

NIMJN is looking for interns, who are passionate about photography, design, coding, research, multimedia, layout designing, and/or innovation in journalism. This is three months paid internship program with flexible working hours (20 hours per week).

Preferred skills & experiences:

1. Final year in Bachelors’ in Computer Science / IT or equivalent
2. Experience in the usage of office software packages (MS-word, excel & PPT) and multimedia software (Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Dreamweaver, and others)
3. Innovative, good communication skills in both Nepali and English languages.
