Details / requirements:
Duties and tasks
- Answer phones to answer questions or accept reservations or schedule changes as needed
- Issue correct tickets and information about given shows, performances, and schedules
- Make change for tickets purchased or operate a credit card machine as needed
- Provide information about available tickets and cost
- Sell tickets to those who have the funds to purchase such items
Skills required
- Ability to lift reasonable amounts of luggage, baggage, or other valuables may be necessary for those who work on a train, bus, or airplane
- Basic computer skills may be necessary for setting reservations, changing flights, or rescheduling events
- Basic mathematical skills are necessary to determine cost, take money, and make correct change
- Problem solving skills are necessary to explain changes in price, time, or availability to the general public
- Strong people skills are necessary as a ticket salesperson will deal with many different people on the daily basis
