Roles and responsibilities of this job

As a Textile Research Officer, you will be responsible for managing the research and procurement process of textiles and fabrics. You will work closely with internal departments to identify needs, evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, closely align end-user's requirement with the manufacturer's product and manage purchase orders to ensure the highest quality and cost-effectiveness. This is a fast-paced, high-impact role where attention to detail and negotiation skills are key.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manufacturer Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable textile/fabric manufacturers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
• Fabric / Textile Analysis: Work closely on the user's requirement to fully understand their fabric and textile specifications, including material type, color, weight, durability, and other key attributes.
• Coordination with Testing Agencies: Work with International fabric testing agencies to conduct fabric quality tests, ensuring all selected fabrics meet the necessary compliance and safety standards. Oversee the preparation and submission of samples for testing.
• Negotiation & Cost Control: Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with manufacturer.
• Market Research: Stay updated on market trends, fabric innovations, and competitive pricing to make informed procurement decisions.
• Order Processing & Delivery Management: Ensure timely and accurate order processing, track shipments, and resolve any issues related to deliveries.
• Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all the procurement activities and ensure the end-user's requirement perfectly aligns with the manufacturer's offer.
• Cross-Category Procurement Support: When textile/fabric related projects are not available, support procurement and research activities for other assigned product categories or projects.

Job Specification:

Required qualifications for this job

• Required Education Level: +2 in Science (Mandatory), Masters in Any Faculty
• Required Experience: Less than 1 year

Other Specification

• Masters completed (Any Faculty).

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Knowledge of fabric and textile materials.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
