Invitation for Expression of Interest (EOI) for Partnership

iDE is a global organization that advances market-based approaches in agriculture, finance, and WASH to create income and livelihood opportunities for low-income rural households.

iDE has worked in Nepal since 1992. From irrigation and good quality seeds to integrated pest management and rural collection centers where farmers can sell their produce, we provide simple innovations that help rural communities get out of poverty and adapt to climate change.

iDE believes that for entrepreneurs in low-income countries to succeed, they must participate in market ecosystems that are economically competitive, inclusive of all people, and resilient to shocks such as conflict or changing climates. By listening to all stakeholders - producers, suppliers, retailers, and customers - we can overcome critical bottlenecks and develop lasting solutions.

iDE Nepal hereby invites you to submit an expression of interest (EOI) for partnership from eligible and qualified non-government organizations (NGO) to implement “Engaging Market Systems for Impact in Nutrition and Food Security” in the aforementioned 10 districts.

Aim of this project is to deliver a strengthened and integrated package of nutrition solutions to transform the lives of the people. Following are the key focus areas of the project:

• Improve nutrition for children under five. Engaging market based approach, improve the wellbeing of children under five and their mothers with supportive food systems environments and increased food security.
• Focus on women entrepreneurs as drivers of change. Leverage market and entrepreneurship opportunities to impact the supply of healthy foods, including fruits, vegetables, animal source products, and healthy processed foods.
• Create demand within the community. Human-Centered Design to create targeted, localized behavior change campaigns. We will also leverage market networks to deliver training on essential nutrition actions around healthy food choices.

Interested organizations must email their proposal along with the documents listed below at nepal@ideglobal.org no later than 25th February, 2024, at 5:00 PM.

Documents Checklist:

1. Application letter (Must be in the letterhead).

2. Legal registration documents which must include:

• Registration Certificate from District Administration office (DAO) and renewal document
• SWC Affiliation certificate and its latest renewal
• PAN registration Certificate
• Tax Clearance Certificate of 2079/80 or tax exemption certificate for FY 2080/81
• Last 3 FY Audit report (2077/78, 2078/79 and 2079/80)

3. Concept Note (Max 5 pages) covering:

• General background and context.
• The rationale for submitting EOI.
• Concept paper on market-based approaches, nutrition sensitive agriculture, private sector engagement, supply chains, and post-harvest handling and storage.
• Partnership and networking.
• Risk and mitigation measures.

4. Annual progress report of the organization (Latest),

5. Reference letter from previous/existing funding agencies (at least 2)

6. Policies and Procedures of NGOs which must include:

• Bidhan (Statues/Legislation)
• Financial Policy
• HR Policy
• Other policies (if any)

The organization failing to submit any of above listed documents shall be considered ineligible and hence shall be disqualified for the further evaluation process. iDE Nepal reserves all rights to make decisions and/or cancel the assignment without any information.
