Do you love open source? How about business intelligence technology? If so, would you like to help us build cool BI solutions for our cool clients? And, how about contributing to open source projects as well? Maybe a little bit of next-gen product development?
Come join our team to work on one exciting BI project after another and help advance the state of open source BI in general. Currently we are looking for software engineers with a good coverage of following skill areas:
Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing:
Hands-on with an open source BI platform either Pentaho or JasperSoft
Create well-structured ETL jobs using an ETL tool like PDI(Kettle) or Talend
Hands-on with report designers and dashboard designers
Experience with charting and dashboard widgets like CDF, FusionCharts, Google motion charts
Experience with data visualization technologies like Processing, Canvas, etc. a big plus
•Core Software Development:
Good command of web application development with Java-based frameworks including:
ï¶Web MVC framework (JSF, Spring, Struts, Tapestry)
ï¶User Interface (Ajax, HTML5, JSF/Facelets a big plus, Flex a big plus)
ï¶Data abstraction (JPA using likes of Hibernate/KODO/OpanJPA/TopLink a big plus)
ï¶Web services protocols like REST or SOAP
•Familiar with database design and programming
ï¶Design dimensional data models (slowly changing dimension knowledge preferred)
ï¶Design OLAP cubes (aggregation and caching optimization knowledge preferred)
ï¶Experience with data warehouse and data marts a big plus
ï¶Good command of SQL (preferably MDX as well)
•Familiar with software development methodology (we shouldn’t have to train you in these)
ï¶Good problem solving skill, knowledge of Design Patterns and use case development
ï¶Agile process (Scrum, backlog, iterations)
ï¶Source code version control with Subversion or Git or CVS
ï¶Unit Testing / Integration Testing tools such as JUnit, TestRunner
ï¶Build and continuous integration tools such as Ant, CruiseControl
ï¶Documentation with wiki
ï¶Eclipse IDE
ï¶Familiar with Tomcat or JBoss
ï¶Familiar with Linux
ï¶Familiar with cloud-based deployments like Amazon Web Services (AWS)
