Background of the Organization

Association for IDEA (Integration, Dignity, and Economic Advancement) Nepal is a non-governmental organization (NGO) at a national level, operating on a not-for-profit basis. Led by individuals with lived experience of Hansen’s disease/ leprosy, it's an organization founded and managed by those within the affected community. Established in 1998 A.D., its primary focus is preserving the dignity of individuals affected by leprosy. Essentially, it's an organization created and managed by individuals affected by leprosy, dedicated to supporting the dignified livelihoods of others in similar circumstances.

The Association for IDEA Nepal stands as a beacon of hope and empowerment in the heart of Nepal. Committed to fostering sustainable development, social justice, and inclusivity, this non-profit organization has been a catalyst for positive change since its inception. Founded on the principles of equality, dignity, and access to opportunities for all, Association for IDEA Nepal is dedicated to uplifting lives of individuals with lived experience of Hansen’s disease/ leprosy, advocating for human rights, and creating avenues for holistic growth. Through innovative programs, community engagement, and collaborative initiatives, this NGO strives to create a brighter, more equitable future for the diverse tapestry of Nepal's population.

IDEA Nepal is dedicated to the principle that individuals with lived experience of Hansen's disease/ leprosy have the right to full and equal participation in society, including the right to equal justice, equal opportunity, and equal dignity without any discrimination.

IDEA Nepal promotes dignified terminology that recognizes individuality and refers to people by their names.

IDEA Nepal rejects hurtful words, stereotypes, and labels that discriminate and are not respectful.

IDEA Nepal also opposes labelling a person as a “patient” after they are cured or are outside of the medical setting.

Location: Sudur Paschim Province (Kanchanpur)

Duration: Full time

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute and implement project related activities in close coordination with the central team and the provincial committee of Sudurpaschim Province.
• Follow guidelines by the central team and the partner organization (NLR) in the execution of project activities.
• Strictly follow the set plans and goals with the timelines.
• Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders within the province.
• Maintain effective communication channels with internal teams, partners, and local authorities.
• Oversee daily provincial office operations and ensure a conducive work environment.
• Address queries, concerns, and issues raised by stakeholders promptly.
• Prepare daily reports and submit to the Line Manager before COB every working day.
• Maintain healthy relationship with the partners, stakeholders and beneficiaries.
• Travel in the field level with proper plans duly approved by the line manager.

Preferred qualifications and required skills:

• Minimum Plus 2 in any stream, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2-years-experience in the related field.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (MS word, excel and PowerPoint)
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in oral and written English Nepali and Local Languages
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability work under pressure and strict deadlines.
• Ability to have the knowledge of time management.
• Should have community mobilization and communication skills
