We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong technical expertise and leadership skills to guide our development team, manage international projects, and uphold high engineering standards.

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer with strong technical expertise and leadership skills to drive backend and full-stack development, manage international projects, and mentor teams. The ideal candidate will ensure code quality, scalability, and efficient communication with Japanese and international partners.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Lead backend and full-stack development using Laravel (PHP), Ruby on Rails, MySQL, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Architect scalable, secure, and maintainable systems with a focus on clean code and performance optimization.
• Enforce coding standards, oversee Git workflows, and ensure high code quality across projects.
• Collaborate with international teams and clients to translate requirements into efficient technical solutions.

Team Mentorship

• Guide junior and mid-level developers, providing technical supervision and mentorship.
• Foster a collaborative, learning-oriented environment that supports continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Support training and professional growth of team members.

Project Management & Communication

• Manage multiple development projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
• Communicate effectively with Japanese and global clients, providing clear reports and progress updates.
• Coordinate closely with the design, QA, and management teams to ensure aligned project execution.

Expected Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in web application development, including 2+ years in a senior or leadership role.
• Expertise in Laravel, MySQL, RESTful APIs, Git, OOP, MVC architecture, TailwindCSS, and jQuery or similar frameworks.
• Strong command of English communication, both written and verbal, suitable for working with Japanese and international partners.
• Excellent problem-solving, reporting, and time management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Vue.js, React, or other modern front-end frameworks.
• Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.
• Understanding of system security, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Prior Agile work experience and familiarity with collaborative, cross-border project environments.
• Japanese language understanding or prior experience working with Japanese teams is an advantage.
