Senior Recruiting Medical Administrator (SRMA)
The Senior Recruiting Medical Administrator (SRMA) is responsible for providing medical support to the Recruiting Team in BGN during the British Army and GCSPF recruitment process. This includes support during Phase I (Registration), Phase II (Initial Selection), and Phase III (Final Selection).
A secondary responsibility of the SRMA is the management of recruitment medical equipment, including equipment maintenance and inventory control. The role also involves clerical and administrative tasks to support the preparation and execution of recruitment activities.
This position is advertised as a 37-hour work week under an Annualised Hours Contract. Please note that the role will require periods of extended working hours and occasional weekend work.
Job description:
Recruiting
- Manage medical support to Gurkha recruitment process, both clinical and administrative.
- Responsible for the coordination and implementation of medical Phase I registration, Phase II (Initial Selection)
- Manage the medical support for Phase III, (Final Selection) under the direction of SMO Recruiting.
- Management of secondary medical investigations for potential recruits with local Hospital for Chest X-Rays, Echocardiography, etc.
- Assist in the preparation of medical examinations including PULHHEEMS and occupational medical examinations as required.
- Translation and chaperone assistance to the SMO Recruiting when informing potential recruits who are deemed Medically unfit for central selection.
- Ensure that data entered into recruit’s records is contemporaneous, accurate, legible, concise, and coherent.
- Coordinator of CMTs and GC Medics who deploy for recruiting. Provide POC reach back to UK for clinical supervision for Phase I and Phase II
- Coordination of vaccinations for British Army recruits after Phase III annually, in liaison with DPHC (Responsibility to order vaccines sits with DPHC for enlisted TRfn).
Medical Stores and Pharmaceuticals
- Manage and maintain medical modules used for Recruiting. (Pharmaceutical ordering to maintain module stocks should be assisted by DPHC)
Equipment management:
- Hold Recruitment equipment inventory, maintain equipment checks including fault reporting and submit returns to WOES, HQ BGN. (Recruitment BP machines, AED, Tempest Pro, Otoscopes)
- Co-ordinate MDSS inspections alongside DPHC as required to maintain Recruitment equipment.
- Procure local purchase items where required.
- Ensure the timely demand and procurement of all medical items required for Phases I, II, and III selections. (with support from DPHC to place orders)
Health and Safety
- Manage of clinical waste disposal for Recruitment Processes when required.
Routine care:
- Chaperone/translation assistance to the SMO Recruitment in medical centre and escort patients to hospital appointments when required.
- Ensure that data entered into TRfn’s records is contemporaneous, accurate, legible, concise and coherent.
Clerical:
- Manage routine clerical administrative duties in support of Recruitment Process
Healthcare governance (HC):
- Report accidents and near misses (relating to Recruitment activity) through ASER and My Safety systems in the medical centre in accordance with MOD policy.
- Complete all mandatory training as stipulated by DPHC.
- Participate in Continuing Professional Development in accordance with personal learning goals and requirements.
- Report Safeguarding concerns immediately to the SMO, UK PHC Nurse and PM.
- Safe handling of specimen results in accordance with SOP.
Accountability:
- To OC BGP/SRO/SMO Recruiting regarding BGN Recruitment.
- To recognise the limitations of their own experience, seeking advice and referring to others when appropriate.
- Undertake regular performance reviews and annual appraisals. Within these recognise the need for on-going education and training and accept responsibility for undergoing relevant courses in discussion with the OC BGP/SMO Recruiting.
Confidentiality:
- To maintain confidentiality of information relating to recruits/ patients, and staff in accordance with GDPR and Caldicott guideline.
- Any breach of confidentiality may render an individual liable for dismissal and/or prosecution.
Overall
- This role provides a vital integration of Recruitment and DPHC interface as such good communication at all times is vital.
- The candidate must transfer roles and responsibilities to another designated colleague in their absence from BGP.
- This role may evolve in line with changes in recruitment and therefore the job holder must have capacity learn and develop new skills and behaviours.

Work Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in related medical field
Qualification:
- Academic – Above Higher Secondary Education (above +2 / A levels)
- Technical – Registered as Medical Care Assistant with Nepal Medical Council
- English – Good Written and Spoken
- Nepali – Good Written and Spoken
You will be assessed on your English language skills and Practical Test to qualify for interviews during the sifting and selection process.

- Salary 95,534.00 NPR per month (Permanent).
- Gratuity after completing 3 years’ service.
