Brief description of organization

Progress Inc. is a private research consulting company which offers services in research, monitoring and evaluations, assessments, capacity building and other data management services to public, private and non-profit actors and institutions in the social development sector. The organization works in different social development themes including gender, education, livelihood, DRR, child protection and many more.

We are looking for a Research (Mixed Method) Lead, with prior experience in a research company or similar set up. This individual must provide technical input in designing research methodology, tool development, data analysis / interpretation, and report writing. The person should further support in planning and allocating work to team members, and expanding our operations and research / evaluation work in the Nepal. We are looking for a mature and responsible individual.

Position Title: Research (Mixed Method) Lead

Working Days: 5 days a week, Monday - Friday (On-site – from Maharajgunj, Kathmandu)

Contract: Full-time

Job Description:

• Build and expand network and business in Nepal; annual target focused

• Achieve the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) standardized by the organization with action plan

• Be the focal point for clients and team members

• Scout and finalize RFPs and research work in the region

• Design suitable research and evaluation designs and methods

• Develop qualitative and quantitative data collection tools/ instruments

• Develop a comprehensive analytical framework in alignment with research objectives

• Write a high-quality research report integrating findings gathered from both qualitative and quantitative data collection

• Conduct data analysis and its interpretation

• Project management – i.e. meeting or reminding deadline, supporting in comment / feedback addressing, ensuring client satisfaction, branding, quality assurance of work, etc.

• Present high quality summary reports and disseminate findings among clients and other relevant stakeholders

• Hold weekly meetings for updates, assigning and information dissemination

• Ensure all deliverable are timely met

• Ensure branding of the company is reflected in any documents produced

Skills/Requirements:

• Proficient in research methods and project management

• Exceptional understanding on evaluation and assessment

• Exceptional proficiency in critical analysis

• Excellent English and Nepali skills for communication and writing

• Minimum Master’s Degree or higher

• 5+ years’ experience in a research company or firm with prior project management, report writing and tool development experience for clients

• Excellent computing and formatting skills; MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, email, etc.

• Able to interpret quantitative tables, graphs and figures; Skills in SPSS or similar data analysis tool

• MUST be able to multi-task, handle and juggle different projects / roles at the same time

• Able to work independently with no supervision

• Able to assign work effortlessly; excellent delegation skills
