Group of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal is a non-profit making non-governmental-organization founded in 1996. SAHAS has been working in remote rural areas focusing on vulnerable and socially excluded families who are derived of development opportunities. SAHAS puts its development efforts towards strengthening the capacities of communities and to create an enabling environment for sustaining development activities by fostering collective efforts of the communities themselves.  

SAHAS Nepal is looking a dynamic and energetic candidate for the following positions:

1. Position: Project Coordinator

Project: "Establishing Model Food Secure, Environmentally Sustainable and Climate Resilient Palikas" (Paila)

Duty Station: Birendranagar Municipality, Surkhet district (with frequent visits of the project districts)

Required number: 1

Academic qualification/experiences:

  • Masters in agriculture or environment science
  • Experience of minimum of three years in food security and nutrition, climate resilient and sustainable agriculture 
  • Experience of project management including planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English

Major responsibilities:

  • Management of project plan and budget and review periodically
  • Facilitate to develop the staff capacity to implement the project including developing their understanding and capacity to implement project activities
  • Monitor  the progress of project related to food security and nutrition in accordance with output and outcome indicators and submit quality report on timely basis
  • Prepare human interest stories
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual project reports and financial report 
  • Linkage and network with province level departments and ministries, and I/NGOs for coordination and cooperation.
  • Organise workshop at Province level government and stakeholders.

2. Position: Climate Change Officer

Project: "Climate Resilient Livelihoods for Vulnerable and Marginalized Communities of Dailekh and Surkhet Districts of Karnali Province"

Duty Station: Dailekh district (with frequent visit to Surkhet )

Required number: 1

Academic qualification/experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, environment, development studies from recognized university with at least two years experiences in relevant field or Master’s degree prefer in relevant field with experience of minimum of three years in food security, nutrition, climate resilient and sustainable agriculture
  • Good communication and analytical skills
  • Knowledge on financial management and staff supervision
  • Good coordination, communication with community and different stakeholders
  • Fluent in oral and written Nepali and English language

Major responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the district project team in planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the field activities in line with the project goal and objectives
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually report
  • Review project budget, track the expenditure of budget regularly 
  • Organise review meeting of the project at district, identify the gaps and issues and take the action accordingly for the further improvement
  • Coordinate with Local Government and like-minded organizations
  • Assist in the financial and administrative matter such as procurement process, human resource management and staff performance evaluation

3. Position: Advocacy and CBNOs Capacity Building Officer (Re-vacancy)

Project: Local Initiatives for Food Security Transformation Project (LIFT)

Duty Station: Achham or Bajura district (with frequent visits of the project districts)

Required number: 1 (only female)

Academic qualification/experiences:

  • Bachelors in Development studies or Social Science with 5 years working experience in relevant field of development organizations
  • Good interpersonal skills to build effective working relationship with Local Government bodies and other related stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills in Nepali and English
  • Good Computer skills

Major responsibilities:

  • Planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting
  • Good Co-ordination and management
  • Organize training on Advocacy
  • Documentations of various advocacy issues
  • Staff supervision and development
