Childaid Network is an independent German foundation established in 2007, dedicated to ensuring that every child has access to quality education and the opportunities to build a better future. The organization works across South Asia, including Nepal, India, Bangladesh, and Myanmar, promoting quality education, holistic child development, and vocational opportunities through strategic partnerships with governments, local organizations, communities, and development partners.

Childaid Network Foundation Nepal has been operating in Nepal since 2021, implementing integrated development programmes in Ramechhap, Sindhuli, Solukhumbu, Sarlahi, Siraha, Rautahat, and Bara districts in partnership with government and local organizations. Its programmes promote quality education, child protection, holistic child development, and sustainable livelihoods support with the vocational trainings, skill and development.

Childaid Network Foundation Nepal invites applications from qualified, dynamic, and committed Nepali citizens for the following positions to support the implementation of BMZ-funded and other donor-funded projects.

Position: Project Coordinator (1 Position)

Duty station: Country office, Lalitpur with frequent travel to project implementation districts

Role Purpose

The Project Coordinator is responsible for leading and coordinating assigned projects, ensuring effective planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and compliance with organizational and donor requirements. The role strengthens partnerships with government agencies, local partners, schools, and communities while promoting innovation, learning, quality, and sustainability to achieve project outcomes and contribute to Childaid Network Foundation Nepal's strategic objectives.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Project Design, Planning and Management

  • Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and timely delivery of assigned education projects in line with approved plans, budgets, and donor requirements.
  • Prepare annual, quarterly, and monthly implementation plans in close coordination with partner organizations and relevant stakeholders. 
  • Identify implementation risks and develop mitigation measures to ensure smooth project delivery. 
  • Provide overall coordination and management of BMZ-funded projects, as well as other projects supported by Childaid Network and its donors with support of Programme Manager.

2. Project Implementation and Technical Quality Assurance

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to partner NGOs and project teams for effective implementation of education interventions. 
  • Ensure quality implementation of project activities through regular technical backstopping, coaching, and supportive supervision. 
  • Coordinate with technical experts and service providers for the development of training packages, learning materials, and technical resources. 
  • Ensure project interventions comply with Childaid policies, donor requirements, and relevant government guidelines. 

3. Partnership, Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain strong collaboration with partner organizations, local governments, schools, and relevant education stakeholders. 
  • Represent Childaid Network in coordination meetings, technical working groups, review meetings, and relevant forums at local, provincial, and national levels aligned to the undertaking projects.
  • Foster effective partnerships with development partners, civil society organizations, and education networks. 
  • Support advocacy initiatives promoting equitable, inclusive, and quality education. 

4. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)

  • Monitor project progress against agreed targets, outputs, outcomes, and indicators. 
  • Ensure timely collection, verification, analysis, and utilization of project data for decision-making and adaptive management. 
  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits to assess implementation quality and provide recommendations for improvement. 
  • Support baseline, end line, needs assessments, evaluations, government and donor visits. 

5. Documentation, Reporting and Knowledge Management

  • Review partner reports, project documentation, and donor reports to ensure quality and compliance with organizational standards and BMZ requirements.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and donor reports in accordance with Childaid and donor reporting requirements. 
  • Ensure timely documentation of project achievements, success stories, case studies, human-interest stories, and good practices. 
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation for audits, donor reviews, and organizational learning. 

6. Compliance, Financial and Operational Management

  • Monitor implementation progress against approved work plans and budgets, working closely with finance team and implementing partners.
  • Coordinate with program, governance and policy, finance, administration, and logistics teams to ensure timely implementation of project activities. 
  • Ensure compliance with Childaid Network policies, donor regulations, safeguarding standards, and financial procedures. 
  • Support project audits, compliance reviews, and donor verification processes.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Master's degree in Education, Development Studies, Sociology, Social Sciences, or a related field from a recognized institution. 

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience managing education or integrated development projects or donor-funded programme; prior experience with BMZ-funded projects will be a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, budget management, and quality assurance.
  • Sound knowledge of donor compliance and reporting requirements, with experience managing donor-funded projects.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Strong project management skills, including planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, budgeting, and donor compliance.
  • Excellent coordination, stakeholder engagement, communication, partnership-building, team leadership, capacity building, and report-writing skills in English and Nepali.
  • Good understanding of Nepal's education sector, inclusive education, safeguarding, gender equality, and social inclusion, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and willingness to travel frequently to project areas.
