Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh), a Swiss-based International NGO established in Nepal for nearly 25 years is seeking a qualified and experienced Nepali citizen to join its team in our Kathmandu Office. This position is for three years working on a new project entitled:
“Naya Bato, Naya Paila”.
Position Title: Project Assistant
Full-time position (40 hours a week)
Start date of the position: January 2010 at the latest.
Reporting to: Anti-Trafficking Programme Coordinator
Work Station: Kathmandu valley with travel including but not limited to Pokhara, Dhading, Makwanpur.
Main Responsibilities:
* Collect vouchers and financial reports from partners
* Work closely with the lead agency in data management
* Documentation of the case studies
* Copy Editing of the materials both in English and Nepali
* Follow–up with the implementing partners regarding the bills and vouchers of the incurred expenses, training attendance sheets, time sheet of the staff
* Graphic designing of the materials to be used for training and advocacy.
Minimum Required Qualification and Skills: Fluent English (oral and written). Written Nepali (on computer) an asset.
Education and Experience: SLC / +2 with a focus on social development and a demonstrated interest in children’s issues. A minimum of two years of experience in INGO/NGO projects in child protection/human rights. Experience in combating human trafficking an asset.
Skills/Qualities: Familiarity with child protection issues; ability to support and supervise finance; advance computer course, ability to work well with others and maintain positive working relationships.
Terre des hommes Foundation offers a package at Entry-Level (D) with NPR 16,000 per month basic salary, plus medical benefits, provident fund and transportation allowance (with cost of living allowance starting in 2010).
