Gender Program Officer

ENFANTS&DEVELOPPEMENT (E&D) is a French humanitarian non-profit organization founded in 1984. For almost 30 years, E&D’s mission has remained unchanged, its vocation being to improve living conditions of the most impoverished children and their families in the world and give them better prospects for their future. To do so, its programmes promote in concrete terms Children’s Rights – particular stress being laid on girls – and those of their mothers and, in a wider sense, the communities in which they live. E&D strives to address the roots of poverty and social inequality and works towards the achievement of sustainable solutions. E&D's goal is to establish programs that contribute to lasting development in the sectors of health, education, socio-economic development and the fight against violence and exclusion.

Position: Gender Program Officer

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The PO ensures regular monitoring and supervision of E&D partners’ activities, working with a strong focus on Gender Based Violence. She/he contributes to the upgrading and improvement of our partners’ institutional capacity and of our capacity building methodology. She/he participates to the overall development of E&D Nepal and works with a high level of professionalism

RESPONSIBILITY:

• Support E&D partners in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation process of their GBV programmes
• Capacity building/ institutional development of E&D partners focused on GBV
• Control and follow up of the budget and expenses of the programmes in coordination with finance team.
• Participate actively in writing reports and any other documents required by the donors
• Reinforcement /development of partnerships with other stakeholders
• Design and deliver the trainings on GBV issues for the partners’ staff members.
• Ensure that all activities (E&D Nepal and partners) are in line with Donor, E&D and GoN requirements
• Ensure a good local networking with other organisations and local authorities
• Participate actively in the fund raising
• Stay aware and inform the Country Representative of all relevant information and potential opportunities regarding E&D and its partners’ activities.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS:

• Good knowledge of project cycle management
• Knowledge, Skills and experience in GBV/VAWG programmes
• Experience in NGO and/or INGO (3 years minimum) and in partnerships management (GBV/VAWG and capacity building)
• Education should at least be to degree level in social sciences related discipline. Strong knowledge of international and national policy framework
• Excellent strategic planning skills, leadership and networking skills.
• Capacity to design and implement adult trainings.
• Skills and experience in fund raising and writing of proposals
• Fluent in writing and speaking English is required (a writing and oral test will be part of the recruitment)
• Good knowledge and experience with Pack Microsoft Office : Word, Excel and Power Point (at least)
• Knowledge in Education and/or Child Protection issues and/or Disaster Risk Reduction/Management would be appreciated.

JOB LOCATION: The position is based in Kathmandu with regular visits to our partners fields of action (Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Dhading District).
