China Foundation for Rural Development (CFRD) is a non-governmental humanitarian organization, registered with Ministry of Civil Affairs of Peoples' Republic of China in 1989. CFRD has been working in more than 20 countries and regions, and commenced its development activities in Nepal since 2015, under general agreement with Social Welfare Council of Nepal. CFRD’s programs in Nepal are primarily focused in education, nutrition, agriculture, community development, skill development sectors and several aspects of rural development. As of 2023, CFRD’s programs in Nepal have received more than USD 10.35 million donation, reaching more than 645,000 beneficiaries.

CFRD Nepal Office seeks competent, committed and result-oriented candidate for the following position:

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Program Officer

Job station: Lalitpur (requiring frequent travel to various project sites)

Working Hour: 10:00-18:00

Job duration: 1 year (prior probation period of 3 months), with possibility of extension

Number of openings: 1 (one)

Start date: At the earliest

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Maintain coordination and communication with all stakeholders of the organization; government authorities, partner NGOs, schools and community people.

·    Document required information of project activities and update organizational information as required for reporting and publication.

·       Prepare project reports and organizational reports as required

·       Develop and update reporting system/channels within the organization and across partner organizations.

·     Develop systematic archives (electronic or other) and update regularly ensuring that required documents are available as and when necessary.

·       Disseminate organizational and programmatic achievements by establishing institutional connection with media.

·       Regularly update organization's website and also develop electronic periodic bulletin and disseminate among stakeholders

·       In-depth monitoring, supervision and reporting on all project and organizational activities.

·       Provide necessary documentation supports in conducting partners meeting, organization representation, and review and reflection meetings 

·       Finalize collected progress reports, case studies and success stories from the program beneficiaries.

·       Make regular field visit to project sites for progress supervision and verification.

·       Keep sound communication and s with Program Manager

·       Collect and compile reports including regular periodic report, tools and event completion report from project staffs and develop appropriate filing system.

·       Supervise field staffs and employees of partner NGOs for preparing activities and event report.

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

·       Minimum Bachelor Degree in social studies, development studies, rural development, or related subject with more than 2 years of experience as a program officer/coordinator in I/NGOs.

·       Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills both in English and Nepali language with a sound knowledge of MS office Package.

·       Willingness to work in a multi-cultural environment and travel to remote areas (project sites).

·       Having an excellent track record of proposal writing, report writing and 2 wheelers driving license will be an advantage.

·       Proficiency of Chinese language will also be given additional preference
