Environment and Child Concern Organization Nepal (ECO-Nepal) is a non – governmental local organization with main office is in Kathmandu, Nepal. In its 17 years of history, ECO-Nepal has been working in all over the country in the area of disaster management, climate change adaptation, capacity development, advisory role in policy making and human resource development to make the DRR resilient community. To expand on the success of the early recovery activities in Gorkha district, ECO-Nepal is going to implement "Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Programme in the partnership with World Vision International Nepal (WVIN) at Aappipal VDC (Palungtar Municipality- 11,12 & 13), Chyangli  VDC (Palungtar Municipality- 1,2 & 3), Gaikhur VDC (Palungtar Municipality- 4, 5 & 6), Palungtar VDC (Palungtar Municipality-7, 8, 9 & 10), Kerabari, Hansapur, and Ghyachowk VDCs of Gorkha District.

Applications are invited from willing and qualified applicants for following positions based on working area by 20th December, 2016 by 5:00 PM.

Procurement and Logistic Officer (1): Bachelor's degree in financial management or relevant subject with minimum of 2 years' experience in procurement and logistics management.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Procurement and Logistic Officer will work under the supervision and guidance of Project Coordinator. The major role of the PLO will be to maintain smoothly the financial & logistic management system. The specific responsibilities of the Procurement and Logistic Officer will include the following:

Logistic:  

  • Assist in delivery of procured items to the implementation sites & update and control inventory list.
  • Support teams arranging transportation of goods and services.
  • Keep the up to date record of stock in the warehouse in district and VDC.
  • Ensure support to team’s needs with smooth office automation.
  • Take the responsibilities of office Assets and keep record in assets record book and to make approve by authorized person.         
  • Make sure of logistic arrangement as per project need.

Procurement and Other:

  • Prepare procurement plan and reporting to project coordinator and as per necessity. 
  • Maintain documentation, vouchers and related financial records of procurement and logistic related transactions.
  • Follow up the financial procedure and providing contract extension and termination of vendors.
  • Accept invoices after good received and check criteria for payable of invoices.
  • Responsible for procurement process for quotation and purchasing for local purchase.
  • Maintain and follow up the financial policy of the organization for all kind of transactions.
  • Perform other duties as required

Required Academics, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in financial management and relevant subject with minimum of 2 years' experience in procurement and logistics management. 
  • At least two years of working experience in logistic and finance related field in any organization.
  • Good knowledge of financial processes and procedures;
  • Good communication and  interpersonal management skill;
  • Good in IT skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and perform at high standards; consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude, supporting the technical and administrative teams when requested.
