Introduction:
Defence Infrastructure Organization (Nepal) (DIO(N) British Gurkhas Nepal, Kathmandu provide technical/ engineering support to British Gurkhas Nepal, Pokhara BGN(P) & British Gurkhas Nepal, Dharan BGN(D). Carry out installation, repair, maintenance, inspection, service, troubleshoot, adjust and test on a large variety of plumbing work and systems such as hot and cold-water generation, treatment, storage, distribution systems and including drainage systems in support of the DIO (Nepal) mission.

This position is advertised at 40 hours per week.
Job description/ Responsibilities:
- Carry out inspection, service, adjust and overhaul all components of the system in Heating Hot and Cold-Water System in accordance with L8:2000 Regulations (Control of legionella bacteria in water system) and UK Water Supply Regulations. (Necessary training on regulations will be delivered upon employment).
- Interpret simple plumbing drawings and produce the required task from these documents.
- Carryout installation works of water heaters including heat pumps, thermal solar water heating system, oil fired water heating system and electric boilers as per relevant UK laws. (Necessary training on regulations will be delivered upon employment).
- Safely and efficiently operate small electrical portable power tools, thread cutting machine, oxy-acetylene welding, arc welding and static bench power tools (training will be provided if required).
- Carry out planned maintenance of water heaters, various types of water treatment plant and equipment's, hot and cold-water distribution system in buildings as well as maintain up to date Logbooks of maintenance tasks carried out.
- Organize and manage your own tasks, problems, rectification of faults using a range of technical knowledge including scope to make minor alterations to work processes in order to achieve quicker or better results with little or no supervision of line manager.
- Work in workshops, confined spaces, water contained vessels, accommodation quarters, commercial buildings, and hot and humid kitchens throughout the BGN Estate located in Kathmandu with periodic visit to Pokhara and Dharan as required.
- Support line management in their tasks, including deputizing for them when required.
- Any other tasks commensurate with grade and competence, as directed by line management.

You must have:
Work Experience:
- Proven experience of 3 years as a Plumber in hotels, resorts, business/office complex, hospitals, apartment buildings.
- Proven experience, qualifications, and training is preferable for this role to deliver the job responsibility effectively and efficiently.
Qualification:
- Good written/ spoken English and Nepali language skills.
- 2 Year Pre-diploma in Water Supply and Sanitation Engineering or Civil Engineering from reputed institutions in Nepal.
You will be assessed on your Plumber skills through an assessment including written, practical and interview test.

- Salary 91,289.00 NPR per month (Permanent).
