AF Nepal invites applications from qualified and experienced Nepalese citizens for the below position:

Position: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer 

Reports To: Program Coordinator

Station: Based in head office, Kathmandu, Nepal

Salary Scale: In accordance with the organization's policy

Position Description: Under the overall guidance of the Program Director and Program Coordinator, the M&E Officer will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating AF Nepal's programs and projects. This role involves designing and implementing M&E activities, preparing reports, analyzing data, and collaborating with stakeholders.

Specific Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks for projects.
  • Monitor project activities, expenditure, and progress towards outcomes.
  • Communicate project expectations clearly to team members and partners.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze data for monitoring purposes.
  • Review quarterly, half-yearly, and annual performance reviews.
  • Supervise program activities to ensure high standards and adherence to plans.
  • Analyze program data and provide feedback to the program team and partners.
  • Prepare presentations on program progress for various meetings and forums.
  • Conduct monitoring visits to program districts and document progress.
  • Provide technical support for project implementation.
  • Lead the learning component of the project and share insights with stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, including the Safeguarding Policy.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Public Health, Development Studies, or related fields.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in M&E roles within projects.
  • Proficiency in managing and utilizing Google Sheets and the Kobo Toolbox
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills in Nepali and English.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet) and time management skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize and critically analyze information and write reports effectively.
  • Willingness to travel to municipalities/wards across the respective district. 

Work Conditions:

  • Extended working hours and overtime may be required to meet the project deadlines.
  • This position requires filed visits for the purpose of stakeholders meetings and monitoring of the project activities.
