MEAL Coordinator

Tdh Nepal is seeking a qualified and dynamic individual for the position of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Coordinator to be based in Kathmandu, Nepal with frequent field travel.
General job description of the position:
The MEAL Coordinator will be responsible to support Tdh operations in the design and implementation of Tdh’s MEAL approach. The person will ensure that MEAL applies to and is an integral part of all Tdh departments, and that the MEAL department plays a support role for the rest of the organisation. This position will be responsible for promoting Quality and Accountability (Q&A) within projects and programmes through methodological, technical and hands on support (and capacity development) to MEAL (within partners) and Tdh Foundation Program Staff. This position will support the MEAL and Program team in project cycle managemnt (situation analysis, strategy development, operational programming, monitoring, project steering, evaluation, capitalization), information management process and optimal information exchange, communication as well as participation in the decision-making processes of the key stakeholders (accountability, including Complaints and Feedback Response Mechanism) and providing input from a MEAL perspective in proposal development (Developing ToC, LFA and narratives around MEAL and budget input).
The person also needs to ensure that approaches such as gender equality, fairness and “do no harm” are respected in projects and programmes. They also need to support an institutional culture that encourages critical thinking, collective learning and teamwork, as a part of the organisation’s focus on quality and accountability.
Last but not the least, the position should help to develop a dynamic approach to MEAL inside and outside Tdh (as part of regional partnerships, networks, centres of expertise, working groups, etc.). This position will be based in Tdh Foundation’s Kathmandu Office, however regular travel to project field sites of operation will be required. The person will work in close coordination and collaboration with Head of Country Office (HoCO), heads of programs and the Regional Q&A Advisor Asia.
