Rural Development and Empowerment Center (RUDEC), Nepal, is a non-profit, non-political, and non-governmental organization established in 1998 A.D. (2054 B.S.) and registered at the District Administration Office (DAO) in Nuwakot. It is affiliated with the Social Welfare Council, NGO Federation Nepal, and NGO Coordination Committee. RUDEC is the first pioneering NGO registered in the Nuwakot district, with a well-established logistic management system based in Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot. RUDEC was founded to utilize local resources wisely while enhancing the capacity of local people, ensuring livelihood improvement opportunities for poor, deprived, and destitute community members, especially women, children, marginalized, and vulnerable populations in Nuwakot and surrounding districts. Since its inception, RUDEC has been implementing integrated development and humanitarian activities across various sectors, including Education, Health, Child Rights, Food Security, Rural Infrastructure Development, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management, Renewable Energy, Environment, Agriculture, Natural Resources Management, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), Human Rights, Peace, and Democracy. These efforts aim to improve the socio-economic and health conditions of the most deprived and disadvantaged people.

Junior Technician

Position:Junior Technician

Location: Project Office – Barhabise, Tadi Rural Municipality- 2

Starting Date: 6th February 2022

Duration of Contract: Fixed term till December 2023 (with possibility of extension)

Gross Salary: NRs 44,940/-, annum (commensurate upon qualification and experience)

Rural Development and Empowerment Center (RUDEC Nepal) is a non-government organization having its Office in Nuwakot District is formed with the objective of wise utilization of local resources with enhanced capacity of local people which ensure the livelihood improvement opportunities for poor, deprived and destitute community people especially women, children, differently able people living in Nuwakot and its surrounding districts. Since its establishment, RUDEC has been working in Food Security, Education, Rural Infrastructure Development, Climate Change, Energy, Environment, Agriculture, Natural Resources Management, Drinking Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Health, Child Rights Human Rights, Peace and Democracy from funding support from different donor agencies for improving socio-economic and health condition of most deprived and disadvantaged people living in Nuwakot and its surrounding districts. It has adopted human right based approach through social mobilization and technical backstopping for strengthening service delivery mechanisms and promoting local technologies to address the poverty issues and also conserve and develop natural resources in order to foster sustainable development.

With technical and financial support of GNI Nepal, Rural Development and Empowerment Center (RUDEC Nepal) is going to implement “Integrated Community Development Project” in Nuwakot District.

Job Description

The incumbent will be mainly focused on the following major duties and responsibilities.

Planning and Implementation

         Prepare monthly work plan of POA activity based on local context;

         Execute the activities mentioned in the plan of action in coordination with the supervisor;

         Identify the potential Income Generating Activities (IGA) in the groups or cooperative working area;

         Support supervisor to identify business service packages for the groups or cooperative;

         Select site and community for the implementation of income generation program activities in close coordination with supervisor;

         Explore and plan for groups or cooperative business at the community level;

         Assist groups/cooperatives to develop their annual plan and budgeting.

Training and Development

         Arrange entrepreneurship development training to the potential entrepreneurs, Agriculture skill training.

         Support to train groups or cooperative business development.

         Plan and implement workshops on financial services available for the member of groups or cooperatives.

·         Provide regular business counseling to members, groups or cooperatives.

         Provide cooperative education, business & financial literacy training to groups or cooperative members;

         Support to update groups or cooperative policies & guidelines;

MEAL

         Assist in carry-out periodical assessment of project in order to assess the gap in operational practices of project interventions;

         Conduct field visits to observe, monitor and evaluate the project interventions and utilization status;

         Prepare report based on project requirement;

         Review physical and financial progress of project interventions;

         Collect relevant information and support to prepare case story, best practices, lesson learnt.

         Assist in feasibility of infrastructure activities;

         Collect and support to analyze and verify the monthly financial report of groups or cooperative

         Support supervisor to prepare monthly Revolving Fund Status Reports;

         Keep record of production and sales data of the individual entrepreneur(s), groups or cooperative business;

         Support supervisor to carryout market survey for linkage of products from members, groups or;

         Collaboration and Coordination

         Coordinate with the municipality and ward level stakeholders for the quality implementation of the project activities and building synergy at local level;

         Facilitate to conduct regular meeting of groups or cooperative and help them to plan appropriately for enhancement of their livelihood;

         Collaboration with marketing actors to expand market of groups or cooperative;

         Encourage community to strengthen groups or cooperatives and make them self-inspired, self-reliant, self-sustained;

Qualification and required skills:

         Intermediate in Agriculture level with at least three years of experience’

         Hands on experience in group financing, cooperatives and cooperative business development.

         Should have community mobilizationand communication skills;

         Ability to communicate in English, Nepali, and local languages;

                  Preferably have two wheeler s driving license
