Summary of the Position:

The Design, Monitoring and Evaluation (DM&E) Consultant will support Search's DM&E Manager and the program teams in conducting surveys and other regular M&E activities. The position will be based in Kathmandu and will include travel to the field during the data collection. The position will start from the last week of October and she/he will be appointed for two and half months with a one-month probation period. S/he will report to the DMEA Manager, and work closely with program departments, and partner organizations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enter pre and post and surveyed data (follow-up survey) in CSPro software;
  • Translate survey questionnaire and survey/evaluation checklists;
  • Coordinate with regional team(s) to ensure quality of data (Listenership Survey) and to enter beneficiary data in web-based database system;
  • Assist DM&E manager in developing endline survey (Pahunch), viewership survey (SD), readership survey (SD) methodology including questionnaire and FGD/KII qualitative survey checklist;
  • Assist DMEA Manager in conducting surveys (Pahunch endline survey and SD viewership/readership survey) with key role of field supervision and on-site coaching to local enumerators;
  • Assist DM&E manager in finalizing the report (Mutual Accountability Dialogue) including data entry, analysis and reviewing draft report;
  • To perform any other duties as required. 

Required Qualifications:

  • At least one year of applied experience in M&E in peacebuilding or development programs; 
  • Creative,  entrepreneurial and collaborative work style; 
  • Strong knowledge of MS-Excel, MS-Access, and other database programs. Knowledge of quantitative programs like SPSS will an added advantage;
  • Strong command of English and Nepali language, with excellent writing skills and should able to generate survey reports;
  • Experience of conducting qualitative and quantitative surveys; and
  • At least Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline.
