1. Position: Senior District Program Officer
Location: Sarlahi District

Position Description
The Senior District Program Officer is responsible for coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and reporting project activities at the district level to ensure the timely achievement of program objectives. The position works closely with local government authorities, partner organizations, and community stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and effective service delivery. Key responsibilities include supervising field activities, ensuring quality standards and compliance, conducting regular monitoring visits, analyzing project data, maintaining project documentation, and preparing timely progress reports. The role also supports planning, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving to ensure efficient and impactful program implementation.
Responsibilities
Program Management Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of project activities at the district level in line with project objectives.
- Coordinate with local government authorities, partners, and stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and achieve project targets.
- Support budget management, activity planning, and resource allocation to ensure smooth and effective project delivery.
Community Mobilization & Awareness
- Organize and facilitate community meetings, orientations, and dialogues on climate change, health, livelihood and resilience.
- Support awareness campaigns on clean energy, women’s health, livelihood and climate-resilient practices.
- Mobilize local groups (women’s groups, youth, farmers, etc.) to participate in project interventions.
Capacity Building & Training Support
- Assist in organizing and conducting training sessions on women-led resilient agricultural and sustainable livelihood practices, SRH services, and disaster preparedness.
- Identify local champions, volunteers, and peer educators and support them in transferring knowledge.
Community Engagement
- Facilitate women’s access to health services and promote climate-smart agriculture and livelihood practices.
- Support communities in adopting early warning systems, local adaptation planning, and household-level resilience actions.
Coordination & Networking
- Coordinate with local government bodies, health posts, cooperatives, and farmer groups to ensure smooth implementation.
- Act as a bridge between community members and the project team.
Monitoring, Supervision and Quality Assurance
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities and ensure they are implemented according to approved plans and quality standards.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to field staff, helping them address challenges and improve performance.
- Identify gaps and areas for improvement, and work with the team to ensure timely corrective actions.
- Collect field-level data and success stories to feed into project reports.
- Document challenges, lessons learned, and best practices from community-level interventions.
- Report regularly to the Program Coordinator/Senior Program Coordinator.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare and submit timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reports highlighting project achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Maintain accurate project records, databases, and supporting documents to ensure proper documentation and accountability.
- Compile and analyze project data to provide regular updates and evidence-based recommendations to management.
Inclusivity & Safeguarding
- Ensure gender and social inclusion principles are applied in all community-level interventions.
- Promote safe, respectful, and inclusive participation of women and girls in project activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Public Health, Health Assistant (HA), Climate Change, Environment Science or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience in community mobilization, women’s empowerment, sustainable livelihood practices, climate change adaptation, health, or disaster risk reduction projects.
- Experience in working with women’s groups, cooperatives, youth networks, or marginalized communities.
- Prior experience in facilitating training, awareness campaigns, and coordination with local government bodies is an asset.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse groups.
- Practical skills in organizing trainings, workshops, community meetings, mobilizing groups, and delivering awareness sessions.
- Basic knowledge of climate change, sustainable livelihood practices, public health (including SRH), and resilience-building approaches.
- Ability to collect field data, success stories, and prepare simple reports.
- Familiarity with local governance structures, local adaptation plans (LAPA), and community development processes.
- Proficiency in Nepali and English language (both spoken and written).
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
2. Position: Admin and Finance Assistant

Rural Oriented Youth Movement-Nepal (ROYM Nepal) is a non-profit, non-governmental national level organization established in 2009 with the aim of reducing poverty through skill development and youth engagement to support national development goals. ROYM Nepal contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting human rights, health, education, gender equality, water and sanitation, environmental sustainability, social protection, and access to justice while addressing poverty, hunger and the impacts of climate change.
With over a decade of experience, ROYM Nepal has been successfully implementing various community development and socio-economic programs in the areas of WASH, skill promotion, self-employment, job incubation, and other livelihood-enhancing initiatives.
Position Description
The Admin and Finance Assistant will support the Finance and Administration Unit of ROYM Nepal in the implementation, and daily management of programmatic and operational activities. This Position is responsible to handle Field level admin and finance activities of ROYM-Nepal currently undergoing projects in Sarlahi,Mahottari and Rautahat Districts. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial management within a national NGO and develop a strong understanding of administrative and accounting processes in the social development sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payment vouchers, invoices, and receipts in compliance with financial policies and approval limits.
- Record all daily financial transactions accurately into the accounting system.
- Manage petty cash, including disbursements, regular counting, and monthly reconciliation.
- Lead the monthly bank reconciliation process and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Handle cheque deposits, fund transfers, and coordinate with banks for routine transactions.
- Ensure timely payment of statutory taxes and support e-TDS (Electronic Tax Deducted at Source) submissions.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems to ensure all documents are audit-ready.
- Compile data and assist in preparing periodic financial reports for management and donors.
- Support internal and external financial audits by providing required documentation and clarifications.
- Update and maintain fixed asset and inventory registers, ensuring physical counts match records.
- Provide administrative support to ensure smooth day-to-day office operations.
- Perform any other finance and admin-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Higher level education (+2) pass in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial systems.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Tally, FAMAS, or others) is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
