Mandwi is a not profit-making national NGO working since 2066 BS. It is dedicated to work strategically to contribute the overall development of disadvantage groups’ special focus on women, girl and another marginalized and disadvantaged groups. Mandwi with the partnership of ICIMOD has been implementing “Implementation of CBFEWS Sustainability Mechanism to Enhance the Resilience of Vulnerable Communities and Develop Integrated Watershed Management Plan at Lal Bakaiya” since October 2023. Mandwi hereby invites applications from suitable and qualified Nepalese citizens for the following position:

1.    Position: Social Mobilization Officer

Number: 1 (One)

Duty Station: Based in Rautahat

Job Description 

1. Undertake a field level assessment /survey/ data collection of proposed activities, in coordination with Project Officer, prepare detailed report of assessment/ survey findings.
2. Prepare and submit a Joint work plan as per the format developed by the project.
3. Facilitate and supervise the field level planning and implementation and other training as well as support activities implemented by the project.
4. Implement awareness raising activities on DRR, GEDSI and social issues as per the need of the project.
5. Work closely with municipalities and local communities for sustainability of the DRR solution.
6. Ensure quality and integrity of implementation, including Mandwi guidelines, administrative systems, established deadlines and incorporating Donor’s guidelines.
7. Assist in preparing monthly progress reports on the project related activities.
8. Evaluate the relevance and appropriateness of current and future programming in relation to all activities in the local context.
9. Coordinate with other partners that are working in the activities in the same target areas by attending cluster meetings and other relevant humanitarian/recovery coordination meetings, conferences, and/or trainings.
10. Prepare and submit required progress/weekly reports to Project Officer.
11. Other duties as assigned by Project Officer.

Qualification: Bachelor having 2 years of experience in Disaster Risk Management (DRM). Community-based Early Warning System (CBEWS) and Gender Equality Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) with a social development background (social or political science or similar discipline) is overall responsible for filed level project management, monitoring. and reporting, day to day coordination with local governments, and to assist the project coordinator for effective program implementation at local level.
