Our long-term vision is to develop a data-driven, scalable, and replicable model for recycling and resource recovery that strengthens the circular economy across Nepal and can eventually be adapted to other emerging markets.

JOB DESCRIPTION – SENIOR MANAGER – LOGISTICS & OPERATIONS

Job Purpose

To lead Khaalisisi’s end-to-end logistics and operations, ensuring efficient collection, fleet utilization, inventory control, service quality, cost management, operational profitability, and scalable systems across all collection channels.

1. Operations & Logistics Management

• Lead daily collection and logistics operations across Direct Outreach, SMUA/e-rickshaws, collection centres, and material dispatch.
• Plan routes, pickup schedules, fleet deployment, and workforce allocation to improve productivity and service quality.
• Monitor pickup completion, vehicle utilization, collection volume, turnaround time, and operational bottlenecks.
• Ensure operational SOPs, controls, and escalation processes are consistently followed.

2. Fleet, Inventory & Dispatch

• Oversee vehicle utilization, maintenance, fuel/electricity costs, and fleet downtime.
• Ensure accurate weighing, segregation, storage, inventory movement, and stock reconciliation.
• Minimize inventory variance, material loss, contamination, and unnecessary stock ageing.
• Coordinate material dispatch to buyers with accurate weights, rates, and supporting documentation.

3. Commercial & Cost Management

• Monitor GMV, gross profit, gross margin, cost per kg, cost per pickup, route profitability, and operational expenses.
• Identify inefficient routes, clients, vehicles, or processes and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate operational procurement, quotations, vendors, and service providers.
• Support management in improving material-level and channel-level profitability.

4. Systems, Data & Process Improvement

• Drive accurate and timely operational data entry through Khaalisisi’s ERP and reporting systems.
• Develop and improve SOPs, dashboards, approval workflows, and operational controls.
• Use operational data to improve route planning, asset utilization, productivity, and traceability.
• Build standardized operating systems that can support expansion into new locations.

5. Team & Management Support

• Lead supervisors, coordinators, drivers, riders, loaders, and collection-centre personnel.
• Conduct daily operational reviews and regular performance monitoring against agreed KPIs.
• Coordinate with Sales, Finance, Procurement, HR, and Management for smooth execution.
• Ensure safety, compliance, discipline, and timely resolution of operational issues.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in operations, logistics, supply chain, warehousing, distribution, or field operations.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams, fleets, inventory, and multi-channel operations.
• Strong commercial understanding, analytical ability, Excel, and reporting skills.
• Experience with ERP, inventory, or logistics systems is preferred.
• Experience in recycling, waste management, FMCG, manufacturing, logistics, or distribution will be an advantage.
