General job description: 

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall management and successful implementation of the Prayatna Project, ensuring alignment with the project’s goals and operational plans. The role involves overseeing the project's progress, ensuring efficient use of project funds, maintaining relationships with stakeholders, coordinating activities, and ensuring that all activities comply with Shanti Foundation’s policies. The coordinator will also lead the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) activities, ensuring that project outputs and outcomes are effectively tracked and assessed. 

Main responsibilities:

General

  • Lead the development and execution of project work plans. Ensure that all project activities are aligned with project goals and milestones and are implemented within the given timelines. Regularly report on progress, documenting successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Oversee the project’s financial management, ensuring that funds are used effectively and in accordance with project objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local governments, Nepal Police, employer associations, CSOs, and other key stakeholders. Facilitate coordination with all project partners to ensure smooth implementation of activities.
  • Represent Shanti Foundation in relevant forums, meetings, and conferences, advocating for the project’s objectives and ensuring visibility for Shanti Foundation.

Technical support

  • Develop and manage knowledge resources that address the needs of vulnerable groups in the entertainment and hospitality sectors.
  • Coordinate and monitor case management activities, ensuring proper documentation, follow-up, and support for beneficiaries in close coordination with the local government and project team.
  • Regularly monitor and document project activities, success stories, and challenges. Compile reports to provide updates on the status of project implementation, ensuring data is accurate and comprehensive.

Learning/training

  • Facilitate training and capacity-building sessions for local stakeholders, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to implement the project effectively.
  • Assist the project team in developing and adapting knowledge and training materials, and other resources relevant to the project requirements.

Security and child safety

  • Ensure that all project activities are carried out in line with Shanti Foundation’s safety, security, child safeguarding, and fraud prevention policies. Promote and monitor compliance with child protection standards across all project activities.
  • Implement and monitor safety and security measures, ensuring that all activities, particularly those involving children and vulnerable groups, adhere to safeguarding policies and standards.

Others:

  • Adhere strictly to the norms, values, and guidelines of Shanti Foundation and Child Protection Policies.
  • Contribute to the organization’s fundraising efforts, including proposal writing and identifying new funding opportunities.
  • Assist with visibility activities, promoting the organization’s work and enhancing its profile.
  • Undertake any additional responsibilities as delegated by the Executive Director and Shanti Foundation Board.
  • Provide input and support in the development, review, and update of organizational policies.

Requirements for the position:

  • Bachelor's degree in law, Social Science, Social Work, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in advocacy and policy work. Must have significant technical knowledge of working with local government, migration, GESI, and child protection.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, project partners, and beneficiaries.
  • Proven ability to manage, lead, and motivate a team, ensuring that all project activities are completed efficiently.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience with data collection and management tools.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple activities, and meet deadlines under pressure. 
  • Ability to analyze complex situations, identify challenges, and develop practical solutions. Results-oriented and proactive in addressing issues. Having results-oriented and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with M&E frameworks, tools, and methodologies
  • Good knowledge of child protection, gender equality, and social inclusion.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills in both Nepali and English.
