Job Opportunity: Deputy Director
Location: Lalitpur, Nepal
Reports To: Primarily to the Executive Director, and at times to Project Leaders for specific assignments.
Contract Period: One year (with a 3-month probation period, subject to renewal).

Just Futures Pahal (JFP) is a knowledge, narrative, and leadership-building movement dedicated to creating just futures for everyone through the prism of Jat/caste. JFP centers the lived experiences, love, capabilities, and aspirations of Dalit women. We are working towards becoming a center of excellence that values and practices collaborative leadership of & by Dalit women.
We are seeking an experienced professional—with over ten years of demonstrated experience—to join us. There are no specific caste or gender requirements for this role; instead, we are looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and brings a spirit of humility, a commitment to continuous learning, and a passion for strengthening the capabilities of a Dalit women-led organization.
As the Deputy Director, you will bridge the gap between complex regulatory and reporting requirements (including global partners, foundations, and universities) and the daily operational needs of our mission-driven organization.
Your Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Logistics Management
- Program Execution: Execute program activities according to the approved budget and annual plan, with the approval of the Executive Director and in coordination with the Finance Team.
- Systems Management: Oversee all office operations, including logistics, procurement planning and monitoring, and asset management, to ensure JFP runs with precision and efficiency.
- Reporting & Communication: Strengthen and maintain robust administrative processes and reporting systems to ensure the seamless fulfillment of obligations with key stakeholders and partners in and outside of Nepal.
- Event Coordination: Lead the strategic planning for high-level seminars, workshops, and conferences, as well as international travel, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Other Duties: Perform any other tasks assigned by the Executive Director & Board Committee.
2. Compliance & Government Relations
- Government Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for the Social Welfare Council (SWC) and other relevant Nepali government bodies.
- Regulatory Navigation: Manage project approvals, official reporting, and monitoring visits, ensuring our work remains fully compliant with the local regulatory landscape.

Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree, preferably in Management or related fields.
- Experience: At least 10 years of relevant experience in management, preferably in the not-for-profit, social justice, or knowledge-related institutional sectors. Experience working with national and international organizations, donors, and academic institutions is required.
- Technical & Analytical Skills:
- Sound understanding of human resources and financial management, with knowledge of Nepali not for profit practices.
- Must be fluent in both written and spoken Nepali and English.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
