Position Summary

The Communication and Fundraising Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies and fundraising initiatives to enhance the visibility, partnerships and financial sustainability of the organization.

Position Details

Position: Communication and Fundraising Officer (with 25% field travel)

Number of Position: One (1)

Duty Station: Kaushaltar, Madhyapur Thimi-03, Bhaktapur

Employment Type: Full-time

Reporting To: Managing Director

Contract Duration: Initially One Year (with possibility of extension based on performance)

Probation Period: Six Months

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication strategies and manage digital platforms.
• Develop and execute strategies for raising funds through partnerships, donations and grants.
• Manage public relations, social media presence and communication efforts.
• Prepare communication materials such as reports, newsletters and press releases.
• Identify funding opportunities and lead proposal writing and grant applications.
• Build and maintain relationships with donors and stakeholders.
• Document project achievements and support donor reporting.
• Manage media relations and ensure positive organizational visibility.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Mass Communication, Development Studies, Business Studies or related field
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in project coordination/management in NGO/INGO sector/development sector/government agencies
• Proven track record of successful fundraising and proposal approvals from donors, development partners and the corporate sector

Skills and Competencies

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali 
• Strong proposal writing and fundraising skills with knowledge of donor requirements 
• Ability to identify funding opportunities and develop grant proposals 
• Proficiency in managing social media, website content and digital communication tools 
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills with donors and stakeholders 
• Good analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities 
• Strong reporting, documentation, and content development skills 
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and work independently or in a team 
• High level of professionalism, integrity and commitment to organizational values
