Village Development and Save the Environment Forum (VDSEF) Nepal is a non-profit organization with over 32 years of experience working in Kalikot district. VDSEF focuses on child rights, maternal and neonatal health, nutrition, climate change adaptation, poverty reduction, and the promotion of the economic, social, and cultural rights of marginalized and disadvantaged communities. The organization strives to promote peace, stability, and sustainable development in Kalikot through inclusive and community-driven initiatives.

VDSEF Nepal has a strong history of collaboration with civil society organizations (CSOs) and government agencies to uplift the most vulnerable groups, including women (especially single mothers), children, adolescents, elderly persons, Dalits, ethnic minorities, and people with disabilities.

Currently, VDSEF Nepal, in partnership with Save the Children, is implementing the SAHAYATRA-III projects in Kalikot district. The SAHAYATRA-III project is being implemented in Subhakalika Rural Municipality and aims to ensure the rights of rural and vulnerable children to quality education, child protection, resilience, and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), guided by the principle of “Leaving No Child Behind.”

VDSEF Nepal is now seeking applications from qualified and dedicated Nepali citizens for the following positions under these projects.

Position: Admin and Finance Coordinator-SAHAYATRA-III-1 (One)

  • Duty station: Project Office, Subhakalika Rural Municipality, Kalikot
  • Report to: Project Manager
  • Salary and Benefits: As per the organization's norms, commensurate with the project agreement

Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Finance and Admin Coordinator is responsible for ensuring effective financial management, administrative systems, and compliance of the Sahayatra-III project. The position plays a central role in budget planning, financial reporting, procurement processes, and coordination with project teams, partners, and relevant stakeholders. The coordinator ensures that all financial and administrative activities are aligned with organizational policies and donor requirements, while supporting smooth project implementation at district and local levels.

Key role includes:

  • Lead and manage overall finance and administrative functions of the Sahayatra-III project
  • Ensure proper planning, budgeting, and timely financial forecasting in coordination with all thematic teams
  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly, semi-annual, and annual financial reports to management and donor (SCI)
  • Manage fund requests, budget allocation, and ensure efficient utilization of project resources
  • Oversee procurement processes and ensure compliance with financial and organizational policies
  • Maintain proper financial records, vouchers, documentation, and filing systems
  • Ensure compliance with government rules including taxation, PF, gratuity, and other statutory requirements
  • Coordinate closely with Save the Children finance team and partner organizations for financial alignment
  • Support and facilitate internal and external audits, including audit preparation and response management
  • Supervise and provide guidance to Admin & Finance staff, Supply Chain Officer, and support staff
  • Ensure proper asset management, inventory tracking, and regular physical verification
  • Monitor and support field-level financial activities to ensure compliance with project guidelines
  • Support project team in budget breakdown, activity costing, and work plan preparation
  • Strengthen financial capacity of project staff through regular guidance and support
  • Maintain effective banking operations and cash management systems
  • Ensure proper coordination with local government and stakeholders regarding financial planning and reporting
  • Support social audit, public hearings, and ensure financial transparency at community level
  • Collect feedback and learning related to financial systems and improve processes accordingly
  • Work closely with MEAL and program teams to ensure financial progress aligns with project implementation

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Management (or BBS/BBA) with at least 3 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and donor compliance
  • Experience in procurement, logistics, and asset management in development organizations
  • Good understanding of financial systems (including digital platforms like OPMIS/PMIS)
  • Strong reporting and documentation skills in both English and Nepali
