Manavsewa Ashram would like to invite application for the position of Health Person. Eligible candidates may apply to the post within 15 days from the publication of this notice.Job Overview:
1. Provide basic healthcare support to patients under the guidance of licensed medical personnel.
2. Assist in administering prescribed medications, including OTC and first-aid care, under supervision.
3. Monitor vital signs and report changes in patient health status to the appropriate medical personnel.
4. Maintain detailed and confidential patient records, including prescription updates and stock management.
5. Ensure proper hygiene practices among patients and assist in maintaining clean and sanitized environments.
6. Follow health protocols and infection prevention measures, including safe waste disposal (hazardous/infectious/general).
7. Assist with patient counseling, mental health first aid, and routine health checks when required.
8. Manage and monitor medicine expiry dates, storage conditions, and maintain accurate stock inventories.
9. Coordinate with pharmacies, labs, and external partners for supplies, referrals, or followups.
10. Educate patients and families on hygiene, nutrition, and basic health practices.
11. Support public health initiatives and awareness campaigns within the community or care center.
12. Follow NHPC Code of Ethics and ensure clinical practice standards are maintained.
13. Ensure proper documentation and reporting of any health-related incidents.
14. Assist during emergency medical situations and provide first response care.
15. Maintain collaboration with in-house and external healthcare professionals.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Healthcare Fundamentals:
Knowledge of basic medical procedures, vital signs monitoring, and emergency response
Familiarity with medication types, dosage handling, and patient care standards
2. Health Record Management:
Ability to maintain accurate and confidential medical documentation
Experience with patient registers, prescription logs, and stock records
3. Infection Prevention and Hygiene Protocols:
Understanding of standard infection control practices and PPE usage
Waste management including hazardous/infectious/general segregation
4. Communication and Counseling:
Effective communication with patients, families, and health professionals
Basic counseling and mental health first aid skills
5. Technical Tools and Equipment
Use of thermometers, BP monitors, glucometers, and basic first aid tools
Ability to assist in minor clinical procedures and emergency support
6. Coordination and Logistics:
Experience coordinating with pharmacies, labs, referral hospitals, and external health partners
Ability to track medicine inventory, expiry, and cold storage requirements
7. Public Health Knowledge:
Basic understanding of nutrition, sanitation, communicable diseases, and preventive care
Experience supporting awareness campaigns or community-based health programs
8. Ethics and Code of Conduct:
Familiarity with NHPC guidelines, healthcare ethics, and patient confidentiality protocols
Professional behavior in line with national and institutional health policies
9. Language Proficiency:
Proficiency in both Nepali and English (spoken and written) is preferred
Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with diverse patient populations
