Introduction:
Generator Operator is responsible to support the DIO (Nepal) mission in the day to day running of the static standby generators.

This position is advertised at 40 hours per week.
Job description:
- Carry out all necessary operations of 3 x 250 KVA standby generators and LV switching operations as necessary.
- Carry out basic fault findings of the standby generator systems and be able to report accurately to the line manager.
- Carry out the refueling of the generators.
- Performing daily first parade checks of the generators and informing the line manager of any discrepancies.
- Carryout DE Spec 005 task 84 and task 85 for weekly & monthly maintenance of the generators.
- Complete a Daily Log Sheet confirming Energy and generator usage.
- Complete monthly generator fuel consumption and load calculation return to the line manager.
- Maintain cleanliness of the machines and area of responsibility.
- Support line management in their tasks, including deputizing them when required.
- Any other tasks commensurate with grade and competence, as directed by line management.

Work Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of work experience as an equipment/generator operator or be able to show the ability to fulfil the role of Generator Operator.
Qualification:
- Academic – Minimum Secondary Education (SLC/SEE)
- Technical – Have a sound working knowledge of the operation of static standby generator sets including synchronisation. Also have a sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance will be preferable.
- English – Medium level of Written and Spoken
- Nepali – Medium level of Written and Spoken

Benefits & Working Environment:
Salary 74,443.00 NPR per month (Permanent).
- Gratuity after completing 3 years’ service.
- Dashain Bonus & Retirement Funds i.e. EPF and CIT (optional).
- Public holidays 10 days and Annual leave 25 days (Annual leave will be increased to 30 days after completing 5 years of service.
- 100% reimbursement of medical expenses for Job Holder and limited reimbursement for immediate dependants.
- Child allowance for up to 18 years.
