Position: Field Officer - Health (MNH, SHN & ARSH)- 1

Position status: full-time, regular

Duty station: Save the Saptari and assigned area

Reports to: Program Coordinator Save the Saptari of Samunnati program

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely planning, implementation, regular monitoring, evaluation on the basis of planned budget or as per need.
  • Manage day-to-day monitoring of activity of the project’s components- ensuring coordination between the team members in different components- to ensure that all components are in tandem.
  • Manage the project in line with the approved project with close support from SCI-Samunnati district office and ensure quality results.
  • Monitor the financial expenditure regularly and ensure adequate rate of the projects tracking report and quarterly financial report.
  • Manage external and internal visits to the project.
  • Liaise with government counter parts like Health Office, Rural/Municipality and HFs and ensure the good and functional coordination with municipal governments and other stakeholders to create enabling environment.
  • Proactively identify other actors working on improving MNH, SHN/ASRH situation and develop collaboration with them (particularly with other agencies executing related projects) to crate synergies and deliver better results.
  • Coordinate closely with other projects and team in the impact areas and district so as integrate and address the issues of MNH SHN /ASRH
  • Support H&N team in development necessary areas & tools for surveys, operational research and regular monitoring
  • Supervise the project staffs, manage their performance and provide timely feedback in necessary.

Technical Support to Need Assessment

  • Support on design, test and finalize health facilities assessment tools in close consultation with PC- H&N team.
  • Support to conduct/facilitate need assessment process at health facilities level.
  • Ensure that financial processes and project activities are in line with organization policy and norms.

Technical Support to MNH SHN/ASRH program

  • Provide technical support for the quality planning, implementation and monitoring of safe motherhood, new-born, child health, School Health & Nutrition programs with municipality level.
  • Provide technical support to statistical section for municipal level progress monitoring and trend analysis.
  • Provide technical support to municipality while implementing health program.
  • Plan, conduct, follow up and monitor maternal, new-born and child health. School Health Nutrition related training program and onsite review and coaching in impact areas of district.

Reporting and documentation

  • Support to Program Coordinator-Samunnati Program and Program Coordinator-MNH (SCI) to do the documentation of maternal, new-born and child health in district.
  • Prepare case-stories, success stories of project.
  • Ensure and update the OPMIS V2 and total Reach of the project.
  • Identify and documentation of all innovations that is maximizing the project result
  • Regular tracking of project and submit the project tracking report with logics.

Prepare project narrative and financial report of MNH/ASRH /School Health & Nutrition project to project focal person as per need of organization and donor and keep appropriate documentation

Qualification and experiences:

  • Candidate should complete Bachelor in Public Health / bachelors in nursing or related field from the recognized university.
  • At least 3 years' experience of similar experience with I/INGOs and government offices especially in the terai region of Nepal as well as project planning, implementation and management.
  • Advance computer skills and fluent in speaking and report writing in English, Nepali and Local Languages.
  • Higher degree of taking initiatives and should have ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple task, able to work in short deadline with intense pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and coordination skills
  • People having two wheeler driving license will be added advantage 

Assignment: 30% office-based works including information updates reporting and database management and 70% field based work including assurance of program quality as per basis of set standards and field visit & supervision (may modify as upon program requirement).
