Hope For Children (HFC) is a Not-profit organization working across Nepal to promote the holistic development of children, families, and communities through education, health, livelihood, and child protection programs. HFC works in collaboration with local municipalities, communities, and other government bodies to bring lasting positive change in the lives of underprivileged children and their families.
Purpose of the Role
The Driver will ensure safe, efficient, and timely transportation of staff, visitors, and materials for official purposes. The position also involves maintaining vehicles in excellent condition and supporting the Admin & Logistics team in daily operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive HFC vehicles safely and responsibly for official duties, both within Kathmandu and to field locations.
- Ensure passengers and goods are transported safely and punctually.
- Maintain vehicle logbooks, including daily mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance records.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues to the Admin Department.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and equipped with necessary tools and documents.
- Follow all Nepal traffic laws and HFC safety regulations.
- Support logistics activities such as delivery/collection of documents, materials, and field supplies.
- Assist during field visits, trainings, or emergency response mobilizations as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while representing HFC in the community.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum SLC/SEE graduate or equivalent education.
- Valid driving license (Category “B” or above).
- At least 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in an NGO/INGO or project-based organization.
- Familiarity with routes across Kathmandu Valley and HFC project areas.
- Basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting knowledge.
- Good communication skills in Nepali; basic English understanding preferred.
- Courteous, honest, punctual, and respectful towards all staff and beneficiaries.
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight during field visits.
Employment Terms and Benefits
- Salary: As per HFC’s staff salary scale and experience level.
- Insurance: Health and accidental insurance as per organization policy.
- Allowances: Field travel allowance and overtime benefits as per policy.
- Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Sunday to Friday) or as required for field movement.
- Leave: Annual, sick, and festival leave as per HFC HR policy.
