Progress Inc. is a private company which specializes in research, monitoring and evaluations, assessments, capacity building and other data management for public, private and non-profit organizations in the social development sector. The organization works in various sectors including gender, education, governance, livelihood, DRR, WASH, and more.
Position Title: Research Manager
Salary: Negotiable as per experience after evaluation
Contract: Full-time Long Term Employment (Initial 3 months will be probation period)
Working Hours: 10 AM – 5 PM (Sunday to Friday)
Job Description:
Lead a team of 4-5 researchers/office staff Hold meetings with team members for updates and information dissemination Able to communicate with clients on the updates of ongoing projects Work in all thematic area that the organization works in as a general research specialist and not just a specific theme or sector Visualize and plan the mission and values of the company; managerial role of the organization Ensure all deadline/timeline are met at all times and privacy policy of organization is intact Coordinate and assign work to team members; able to build a team for effective results Requires to validate field findings through stakeholders and client discussion or meetings Be well versed in research methods – tool designing, data collection, reporting Facilitate training to participants or other team members Write reports and liaison with other team members for finalization of work Follow branding guidelines of the organization Prepare financial/budgeting plan Other as assigned
Skills/Requirements:
Excellent English report writing Excellent oral communication skills in Nepali Master’s Degree in Development Studies, Journalism, Anthropology or other similar. 6-7 years or more hands on experience specifically in the field of M&E, research, and managing a small team in the social development sector. LESSER or NO EXPERIENCE DOES NOT QUALIFY. Able to manage, motivate, and review the performance of a team Knowledge of mobile data collection application and statistical data analysis packages – SPSS, STATA or other similar is added advantage. Able to multi-task handling different projects Able to work efficiently within the stipulated deadline in a fast paced environment Able to work independently with minimal to no supervision Able to guide a small team and assign work effortlessly Honest and dedicated to the organizations values; will put forth the mission of the organization at all times
