About the Organization
Care and Development Organization (CDO) is a non-government, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of marginalized communities in Nepal. CDO focuses on supporting underprivileged individuals, children working in brick and carpet factories, internally displaced people, and women in need through medical care, health awareness, education, and skill development programs.
About the Project
The Rural Women Empowerment Project aims to uplift rural women in Budiganga Rural Municipality through literacy programs, skill-building, economic empowerment, livelihood opportunities, and health and education awareness initiatives. The project will run for three years, focusing on capacity-building activities, income generation, and education to promote sustainable community development.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and Implementation
- Coordinate and implement project activities effectively in the target communities.
- Organize and conduct meetings with stakeholders, community mobilizers, and local enterprises.
- Build strong rapport with community members and mobilizers.
- Monitor and evaluate project-related data to ensure activities are on track.
- Develop innovative educational and economic activities tailored to beneficiaries’ needs.
- Conduct awareness campaigns and mobilize the community.
- Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Assist in project budgeting, scheduling, and scope management.
- Assess risks associated with project implementation and develop mitigation plans.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of all program activities.
- Support the Project Manager in preparing and submitting reports within the given timeframe.
- Document project progress, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Ensure proper data collection, analysis, and presentation for informed decision-making.
Networking and Coordination
- Establish and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, including government offices, partner organizations, and community representatives.
- Engage key community members to enhance project participation and impact.
- Advocate for women's empowerment and social development initiatives.
- Organize and facilitate public hearings, reviews, and meetings to ensure transparency and accountability.
Empowerment, Training, and Education
- Develop and implement training programs focused on women’s literacy, economic opportunities, and health awareness.
- Facilitate workshops and capacity-building sessions for marginalized women.
- Ensure the inclusion of best practices, case studies, and research insights into program activities.
- Support the implementation of local empowerment mechanisms and community-driven initiatives.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning
- Conduct regular monitoring visits to track project progress and address challenges.
- Oversee literacy education, school programs, and economic empowerment activities.
- Maintain project indicators and performance metrics aligned with the Logical Framework Approach (LFA).
- Support budget tracking and ensure effective utilization of financial resources.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Sociology, Gender Studies or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in community development, women’s empowerment, or similar projects.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and coordination skills.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership development.
- Ability to develop and implement training and capacity-building activities.
- Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and data management.
- Fluency in Nepali, English, and local dialects is preferred.
- Willingness to travel and work in rural communities.
- Candidates with a two-wheeler and a valid license are desirable.
Salary:
- Gross Salary: NRS 30,000- 35,000/-
