Voice Of Children

Voice of Children (VOC), a Nepalese NGO, working with street children and deprived families in urban poor areas. Voice of Children (VOC) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established on November 2000 with a mission to contribute for the improvement of the living condition of the Street Children and their families in Nepal. The organization mainly focuses on those children, who suffer from various kinds of problems such as sexual abuse, harassment and other forms of violence and exploitation in the street and strives to re-establish them in the society with special attention to their needs and rights. Assistance in different ways and through different programs focused on the enhancement of the physical, mental, social and financial condition is catered to the needy street children and their families in order to reshape their lives.

A national level Nepalese NGO (Voice of Children), working for fight against child sexual abuse and rescue rehabilitation, reintegration and prevention of street children and empowering deprived families, invites application from interested, dynamic, energetic, qualified and result oriented Nepali citizen to be recruited in the following positions based in Kathmandu valley.

Communication Officer  

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparing, writing, editing, designing, and publishing monthly/quarterly/annual reports, meeting minutes, brochures, handouts leaflets, case studies, newsletter, pamphlets, promotional videos, photographs, and necessary office documents.
  • Writing , editing and managing the press- releases, workshop, seminar, speeches, articles, letters 
  • Maintain and update and publish the website 
  • Answering enquiries from individuals, media, institutions and other organizations, often via telephone and email and collect information from likeminded organization
  • Collect and update the data from programs 
  • Maintain the data of  media coverage of organization
  • Building good rapport with people both in and out of the organization.
  • Explore new possibilities of raising funds for the organization. 
  • Write & submit the grant proposal for raising the fund.
  • Maintain and update the donor database.
  • Follow up on fund raising activities with concerned donor organizations.
  • Organize fundraising meetings on regular basis.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Master in related field would be preferable or similar qualification in related disciplines with minimum 2 years of working experience in I/NGO. The candidate should possess strong time management skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills, good knowledge of networking, reporting, and publications. Communication officer should be an outgoing individual with abilities to prioritize and multi-task
