About the job:
Introduction:
Carpenter is responsible to support DIO (Nepal) in the day to day running of the estate with regards to carpentry works that will include duties such as taking measurements, drawing up plans for proposed works, sourcing materials, preparing estimates, crafting and craving the furniture with fine detail work and/or utmost sturdiness and quality and undertaking site visits.

This position is advertised at 40 hours per week.
Job description/Responsibilities:
- Plan carpentry and joinery tasks from sketches and working drawings.
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
- Safely and efficiently operate wood working planner machine, circular saw machine, and central dust extraction system. Carryout regular maintenance cleaning of these machines.
- Safely and efficiently operate small electrical portable power tools.
- Prepare timber and other materials for use (cut, shape and smooth), manufactures joints, use adhesive, produce windows, door frames, door linings and internal joinery fitments.
- Lay out floorings, roofings or drywells ensuring they are levelled and compatible.
- Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated.
- Craft furniture with fine detail work and/or utmost sturdiness and quality.
- Inspect places (carpentry, fixed furniture's and guttering etc) and conduct repairs or maintenance as required via help desk process.
- Build scaffolding and other construction structures.
- Apply little physical effort and normal dexterity to heavy physical effort or the very highest level of dexterity dependent upon the type of job.
- Work in workshops, confined spaces, work at height, accommodation quarters, commercial buildings and hot and humid kitchens.
- Support line management in their tasks, including deputising for them when required.
- Any other tasks commensurate with grade and competence, as directed by line management.

Work Experience:
- Proven experience as a Carpenter for minimum of 3 years or have served a recognised apprenticeship as a Carpenter for minimum of 5 years.
- Proficiency in using all relevant hand and power tools for Carpentry trade.
Qualification:
- Academic – Minimum SLC/SEE education
- Technical – Hold minimum CTEVT’s level 2 qualification/s in relevant Carpentry field or from another Technical School/College/Institute
- English – Good Written and Spoken
- Nepali – Good Written and Spoken
Proven experience, qualifications, and training from reputed institute is preferable for this role to deliver the job responsibility effectively and efficiently.

- Salary 91,289.00 NPR per month (Permanent).
- Gratuity after completing 3 years’ service.
