Research on transition to federal system of governance: Understanding of decentralization process and inclusion

International Alert invites expression of interest from interested and qualified individual to conduct research on transition to federal system of governance. The interested expert should have following qualifications and experiences:

• Strong knowledge and understanding of Nepal’s political process with a clear understanding of the socio-economic and political environment of the provinces and the federalism.
• Have good network and connection with key social and political actors including those involved in political processes and be able to reach out to them.
• Proven ability to work with diverse populations in a respectful, non-judgmental and ethically sound manner.
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
• Ability to work in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environments.
• A high level of competency in the English language, particular in writing and fluent in Nepali and/or other local languages and be able to draft in high quality English. Proven experience in drafting and editing news articles, blogs, analytical papers, academic papers, books and research reports on human rights and transitional justice issues.
• University degree in social science, political science, law, human Rights, conflict and peace study or any other relevant field.
• At least five years of relevant professional experience working in research and analysis.
