Global Clinical Research (GCR) is a Nepal-based Clinical Research Organization (CRO) committed to conducting ethical, high-quality clinical research in compliance with national and international regulatory standards. GCR aims to collaborate with sponsors, investigators, hospitals, and academic institutions to advance clinical trials, vaccine research, and public health innovation in Nepal and the South Asian region.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic MBA professional to join GCR as a Business Development & Strategy Manager. This role is critical to driving the organization’s growth by developing business strategies, building relationships with sponsors and investigators, and positioning GCR as a credible and trusted CRO.
The selected candidate will work closely with GCR’s scientific leadership and external stakeholders and will play a central role in shaping the organization’s business direction and market presence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Strategy & Planning
- Develop short-term and long-term business development strategies for GCR
- Prepare and execute annual business plans, growth roadmaps, and revenue models
- Identify new service opportunities (e.g., clinical trials, vaccine trials, BA/BE studies, pharmacovigilance, training programs)
- Analyze market trends, competitor CROs, and regional opportunities
2. Sponsor & Client Engagement
- Identify, approach, and engage pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, vaccine developers, and research sponsors
- Lead communication with sponsors for feasibility discussions and collaborations
- Support preparation of proposals, capability statements, pitch decks, and budgets
- Coordinate with scientific teams during sponsor meetings and presentations
3. Investigator & Institutional Collaboration
- Build
and maintain strong relationships with:
- Principal Investigators
- Hospitals and research sites
- Academic institutions
- Facilitate collaboration agreements and MoUs
- Support site development and investigator onboarding initiatives
4. Communication & Representation
- Act as a professional representative of GCR in meetings, conferences, and networking events
- Coordinate internal and external communications related to business development
- Support leadership in stakeholder engagement with regulatory and ethical bodies when required
5. Content & Brand Strategy Oversight
- Develop content and communication strategy aligned with GCR’s scientific and ethical standards
- Guide
and review content for:
- Website
- LinkedIn and professional social platforms
- Educational and awareness materials
- Coordinate with content creators and designers (execution handled by support team)
6. Compliance & Quality Alignment
- Ensure
all business communications and promotional materials align with:
- National regulatory guidelines
- Ethical standards for clinical research
- Work closely with scientific leadership to maintain accuracy and credibility
Required Qualifications
- MBA (Healthcare Management, Pharmaceutical Management, Strategy, Marketing, or related field)
- with Bachelor’s degree in Management, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Public Health, or health related discipline
Preferred Experience
- 2–5
years of experience in:
- CROs
- Pharmaceutical or biotech companies
- Healthcare consulting
- Clinical research or public health projects
- Prior experience in business development, strategy, or client management is highly desirable
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Both English, Nepali)
- Proposal writing and presentation skills
- Stakeholder relationship management
- Basic understanding of clinical research processes and ethics (Training will be advantages.)
- Professional, ethical, and results-oriented mindset
