Position: Business Development Officer

Company Overview: 

Sahayatri Consults (established in 2020) is a non-profit development consulting firm comprising experts in various fields such as research, monitoring, evaluation, capacity building, and technical advising etc. The firm aims to combat poverty and empower communities by providing technical services to development projects, making them more efficient and impactful.

Responsibilities of Business Development Officers:

• Identify potential clients, industries, and markets through market research. Monitor competitors and adapt strategies accordingly.
• Create a comprehensive business development plan aligned with organizational goals. Produce periodic reports on business development strategies, market trends, performance, and competitive analysis.
• Develop and implement strategies to expand into new markets, attract customers, and increase revenue. Forecast future project opportunities through market analysis and address customer needs.
• Lead proposal development, ensuring seamless collaboration among teams, consultants, clients, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality proposals and concept notes.
• Cultivate strong professional relationships with clients, including Multilateral and Bilateral Development Partners, INGOs, and Government Agencies. Conduct presentations, negotiate contracts, and secure new business opportunities.
• Create effective promotional materials, presentations, and proposals.
• Update the company's website and social media to reflect strengths and ongoing projects. Communicate effectively with stakeholders and clients.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, Social Science, or related fields.
• 5-7 years of professional experience in business development, with expertise in proposal development, marketing, and forming strategic partnerships within development consulting firms, INGOs, UN, or GOs.
• Interest in managing a multifaceted role within the development sector.
• Strong professional writing and communication skills in English and Nepali, coupled with proficient IT skills and working under very tight time pressure. 
• Priority will be given to candidates residing in Kathmandu.

Reporting:

The Business Development Officer will report to the CEO and provide regular updates on business development activities, key achivements, challenges and proposed strategies.
