Introduction: 

Responsible to the Executive Officer (EO) in the daily administration of Records and settlement to Gurkha Veterans and Gurkha Contingent Singapore Police Force pensioners administered by GVAC Dharan.

Job description: 
  • Assist ex-servicemen/eligible dependants on processing of their Kindred Roll changes (registration of birth, adoption, disability, marriage, divorce/elopement and correction of name/Date of Birth (DOB) of dependants). 
  • Help facilitate Family Details, Certificate of Service and Service Details requests from veterans and eligible widows. 
  • Ensure death reports of Gurkha ex-servicemen/widows/eligible dependants/ pensioners are processed as soon as received. 
  • Inform outcome of the applicants’ requests and pass on documents issued by Records Office as soon as they are received. 
  • Check and ensure applicants’ documents issued by Nepali government authorities are genuine and reliably verifiable. 
What you will be doing: 

Responsibilities: 
  • Assist with settlement related requests from Gurkha veteran and their dependants. 
  • Verification of documents required for UK settlement applications and provide advice on visa processes and counselling. 
  • Help Veteran Support Officers in the authentication of Life Certificates submitted by pensioners. 
  • Make sure all details (rank, pension rate, DOB, name etc.) are correct as per Records Office database/personal files.    
  • Help update bank account details, address/contact details of pensioners. 
  • Stop pension payment instantly after receiving notification of pensioners’ death to avoid overpayment and contact Lifetime Arrears (LTA) recipients of pensioners for further pension administration. 
  • Respond to queries from pensioners and stakeholder partners effectively and efficiently. 
  • Any other tasks as detailed by EO commensurate with the grade.

Applicant should have good written/ spoken English and Nepali language skills.  Proven experience, qualifications, and training is preferable for this role to deliver the job responsibility effectively and efficiently.
