Background

The Right Here Right Now 2 (RHRN2) partnership is created so that young people in all their diversity enjoy their sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in gender-just societies. Young people are at the forefront of our partnership.

RHRN 2 Nepal coalition is implementing the five-year partnership (2021-2025) to empower young people, increase public support for Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and improve policies and laws on CSE and SRHR, and strengthen capacity of civil society organizations.T he coalition partners include Beyond Beijing Committee (BBC), Blue Diamond Society (BDS), Blind Youth Association Nepal (BYAN), CDS- PARK, Youth Alliance for Development (YARD) and YUWA. YUWA is the country lead for this RHRN2 Nepal Coalition. The coalition envisions to ensure young people aged 15-30 in their diversity are empowered to exercise all aspects of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in a supportive social and enabling legal environment in Nepal by 2025.

Youth Activists Leadership Council (YALC) is a group of youth activists of diverse backgrounds and identities, aged 16 to 24, 10 YALCs in Kathmandu and 10 in Rupandehi, who will advocate at the local and national level for improved sexual and reproductive health policies that support reproductive health, family planning services, comprehensive sexuality education and programs that support meaningful youth participation. Council members advocate raising issues of SRHR and CSE through peer-to-peer approach, blogs, social media and social campaigns.

Youth Activist Leadership Council is a platform where young people can learn about issues around CSE and SRHR, design and implement programs, build networks and capacitate themselves and become change makers in the community. The council members serve as youth advocates, educators and spokespersons on the issues of adolescent sexual and reproductive health.

The selection process:
