ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

PHASE Nepal is a not for profit NGO established in 2006 by a group of development professionals dedicated to supporting poor communities in remote areas of Nepal. For the last 10 years PHASE Nepal has been implementing Health, Education and Livelihoods improvement programmes in Humla, Bajura, Mugu, Gorkha, Sindhupalchok and Kavrepalanchok districts.  Currently PHASE has over 150 staff working for different projects including earthquake recovery and reconstruction.

Position: Accountant

Required Number: 1

Duty Station: PHASE Office, Bhaktapur with remote field visits.

Salary Scale: NRS 29,515 / month (basic starting salary scale) plus 10% provident fund after three months of probation period, one month’s salary as festival bonus after working for a year, 5% end of contract period after working for two years / end of project period (it makes a gross of Nrs 37,880 per month), plus medical facility upto Nrs 12000 per year for medical treatments and accidental insurance (10 Lakhs).

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Accountant will report to the Finance Head and is responsible for recording and reporting financial transaction with ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor rules. Monitoring and managing day to day banking and accounting activities for efficient, accurate and timely release of the accounts and financial reports.

Qualification and Experiences: Bachelor's degree in Management preferably Master's Degree in Business Studies with minimum 3 years of substantial experience in NGO/INGOs. Should have abilityto communicate effectively in spoken and written English and Nepali language. S/he must have excellent computer knowledge (Office packages). Candidates having knowledge of accounting software FAMAS will be given high preference.
