Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO) Nepal is one of Nepal’s leading organizations in the psychosocial and mental health field. It was established in 2005 with the aim of promoting psychosocial well-being and mental health of people in conflict affected and other vulnerable communities through the development of sustainable, culturally-appropriate, and community-based psychosocial support systems.

Currently, the organization is implementing a project "Group Problem Management Plus (PM+)". Problem Management Plus (PM+) is a brief 5-session trans-diagnostic psychological WHO intervention employing empirically supported strategies that can be delivered by non-specialist lay-providers under specialist supervision to adults impaired by distress. The objectives of project are to adapt the Group PM+ manual for use by lay Community Psychosocial Workers in Nepal; to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of the locally adapted version; and to test the effectiveness of the locally adapted version of Group PM+ in Nepal.

In this regard, TPO Nepal is seeking competent, committed and result oriented candidates for the following position. 

Position: Clinical Supervisor

Location: Sindhuli (Year 1) and Nuwakot(Year 2) 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for following duties but not limited to:

  • Supervision of overall clinical part of the program under the supervision of Project Coordinator.
  • Take leading role in training and supervision of Community Psychosocial Workers (CPSWS) for implementation of the intervention Group PM+ in Nepal
  • Facilitate/ Support for contextualization of the Group PM+ manual to Community Psychosocial Workers (CPSW) in Nepali.
  • Conduct Group PM+trainingsto CPSWs in the project districts.
  • Provide regular supervision to CPSW of PM+ project through regular field visit and ensure quality of each implemented activities.
  • Work closely with CPSWs and assure the clinical intervention is being implemented as described in the protocol.
  • Work in close coordination with research team and Implementation coordinator.
  • Prepare training and supervision reports and submits to the immediate supervisor.
  • Seek continuous support from Principal Investigators; project coordinator and central based clinical supervisor at TPO Nepal office under PM+ project for effective planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of proposed activities.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of progress reports (weekly or monthly or quarterly or annually) in given deadline.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of the clinical activities.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Master degree in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology or equivalent from recognized University, preferably in clinical stream
  • Experience in psychosocial counseling at least 5 years
  • Training on Behavior Activation or Cognitive Behavior Therapy (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in English and Nepali
  • Skills and knowledge on Clinical Supervision
  • Ability to work well with groups with project staff, and local communityand maintain positive working relationships.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products such as MS Office
