We have been supporting development work in Nepal since the 1980s. We focus on Fight extreme inequality, Save lives, Build resilient communities and Climate change to improve the life of the most marginalized communities in some of the most remote and vulnerable regions of Nepal, through a rights-based approach.

Volunteering Opportunity!

DanChurchAid (DCA) is a faith-based, non-missionary organization. We work for the poor,vulnerable and socially excluded communities and believe in life before death. In Nepal, we are involved in three thematic areas i.e. resilient livelihood and sustainable food security, active citizenship, and Humanitarian response and Disaster Risk Response. Women and youth are at the heart of all our interventions.

DCA Nepal is looking for driven, energetic Nepali youth volunteers to be based in Dhading for 6 weeks starting from 16th April 2018 – 4th June 2018.

Youth Volunteer –6

Go Global is DCA’s youth volunteer programme where young Danish students volunteers go across the world, spend six to ten weeks with local host families and engage in community work. Go Global’s main purpose is to create ambassadors who will strive to engage the Danes in campaign and communication activities for the world’s poorest. We are trying to provide similar opportunities to Nepali youth by giving them the possibility to explore more of their country and be a part of community development work and make a positive impact.

Required qualifications, skills and competencies: 

  • Bachelors in any discipline 
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Willingness to travel  and stay outsied kathmandu in rural communities for a period of ten weeks
  • Ability  to interpret translation from Nepali to English( This will be one of the core responsibilities of the volunteer)
  • Knowledge about Nepal's development issue and sustainable Developments Goals
  • Prior volunteer experience will be added advantage.

The selected applicants will be expected to start their field stay from 16th April 2018.

DCA will cover basic food and accommodation cost of the volunteers during their field stay.They will also get a minimum sustenance allowance for the field.
