Chemonics International Inc., a leading international development consultant firm seeks qualified technical specialists and professional support staff for the anticipated USAID-funded Feed the Future Knowledge-based Integrated Sustainable Agriculture and Nutrition II Project (KISAN II). KISAN II aims to substantially reduce poverty and hunger by improving agricultural productivity; strengthening the competitiveness, resilience, and inclusiveness of market systems; enhancing the enabling environment; increasing the resilience of vulnerable communities through business literacy; and applying collaboration, learning, and adaptation methodology to ensure flexible, results-driven programming. 

We are seeking candidates interested in working in the mid and far western regions

Technical specialists needed in the following areas:

  1. Access to Finance 
  2. Value Chain Development 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR TECHNICAL SPECIALISTS:

  • Master’s degree required in agriculture, economics, international development, or a related field
  • Minimum of seven years of experience designing, implementing, and managing agriculture programs in Nepal 
  • Experience with USAID–funded donor projects 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the private sector, government entities, and international donors
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required. Proficiency in Nepali is preferred

We are also seeking professional staff in the following areas:

  1. Monitoring and Evaluation 
  2. Finance and Operations 

QUALIFICATIONS

Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist

  • Master’s degree or other higher degree in a relevant subject matter area
  • At least six years of progressively more responsible international work experience
  • Experience in designing both quantitative and qualitative evaluation methodologies and tools, including household level surveys
  • Demonstrated experience in carrying out USAID monitoring and evaluation activities such as assisting partners to develop performance management plans (PMPs) and reporting indicators, and plan and lead evaluations for large, complex projects 
  • Knowledge of data analysis software (SAS, SPSS) is required
  • Proficiency in English required 

Finance/Operations Manager

  • Master’s degree in accounting preferred; minimum of bachelor’s
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in accounting, financial management and procurement is required
  • Demonstrated knowledge and extensive experience with USAID regulations and control systems
  • Seven years of experience in accounting on complex development projects; experience in working with projects that have grants under contracts mechanisms is highly preferred
  • Proficiency in English required
