We were among the first INGOs on the ground and operational following the earthquake, providing medical treatment and essential supplies. Our technical staff on the ground now includes physicians, nurses, surgeons, as well as specialists in water, sanitation and hygiene, mental health and psycho-social support and nutrition.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Program Officer will work in M&E Unit under direct supervision of Program Development Manager and primarily will be responsible for quality control, learning and knowledge management. The person will also support implementing partners in data management capacity building, lesson learnt capturing, data driven decision making. S/he will also contribute in new program development by supporting research and assessments. The person will also be responsible for supporting/coordinating internal and external evaluation of International Medical Corps' programs.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide support in quality control of programs and community accountability:

  • Conduct field visits for the purpose of quality control of programs.
  • Support implementing partners in improving quality of programs in coordination of program managers.
  • Lead beneficiary feedback mechanism and communicate with beneficiaries for effectiveness of program and for possible suggestions.

2. Provide support in capacity building of implementing partner:

  • Support implementing partner in effective data management by conducting routine data quality assessment.
  • Support implementing partner in strengthening M&E system by providing supporting supervision.
  • Coordinate with program managers for capacity building needs of implemnting partners and coordinate with M&E Officer, Program Development Manager and other team for responding the needs. 

3. Provide support in evaluation & learnings:

  • Assist in designing, coordinating and conducting project evaluations (mid-term and end-line)
  • Assist in designing and conducting post implementation learning and sharing events
  • Support partners in designing and disseminating research studies by providing relevant input.
  • Prepare case stories in coordination with program managers.

4. Provide support in research, data anaylsis and knowledge management:

  • Conduct data analysis and produce analytic report on quaterly basis from existing program.
  • Coordinate with different programs for cross progrm learnings and knowledge management.
  • Provide support in research and assessments for new program development.

Minimum Education and Qualification:

  • Bachelor Degree in Public Health or Statistics or Development Studies or similar sector (Master preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in M&E
  • Expertise in data management and analysis using statistical software
  • Expertise in training & facilitation skills  
  • Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills (both Nepali and English)
  • Professional personal presentation
